Weather finally warmed up enough to clean some of the dirt off the new tractor and snap a couple pictures.

Since the tractor had about 90 hrs on it when I picked it up, I've been working through all the fluids and filters over holiday break. I've already changed: front axle fluid, engine oil/filter, fuel filter. With any luck transmission is tomorrow's project. Air filter looked pretty good, so not planning to change it immediately. It looks like the tractor had been well maintained as I can see where the engine oil/filter had already been changed once (paint had been knocked off the oil drain plug).

I'm very pleased w/ the tractor. It does, however look like it was used in brush a lot during its first 90 hrs as there are quite a few small scratches. I'm hoping w/ a good wax job this spring some of these may not be as noticeable.

Happy New Year everyone.

Nice pictures Mike and congrats for an excellent find ! welcome to the club and let me be the first to say - its a night and day difference over the Cub. The cub is a toy compared to the 2520 - sorry Cub

Kids look like they recieved this as a holiday gift - i see the grins from here!

Did you change the axle oil ? you mentioned it looked like water mixed in with the oil - did you solve that?

I went back and looked at the oil in my drain pan later, but the oil had pretty much all mixed together. So I wasn't able to look any closer at the oil. I'm just going to keep an eye on the oil over the next few months and see if it happens again.

Kids love the new tractor.

Orig owner only used it for 90 hours ? Wonder what happen there. Looks like it was optioned well with a loader and box blade. Retail on these compacts reflects the quality of engineering and the ability to perform for many seasons. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
