John Deere 2520 R4
200CX Loader W/61” Bucket
46 Backhoe
Total------------------------$21,000.00

Out of all tractor that I looked at (Kubota, New Holland, John Deere) I keep coming back to the 2520. As far as I can figure list is around $25,154.00 which would be about 16.5 % off list. Is this what I should expect to pay for this unit?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Being new to the small utility tractor market is there any other upgrade with this equipment that would be recomended like bigger alternator etc. ?

Thanks

Brian

The price is certainly inline with what one would expect to pay. I assume you are not mowing with this machine?

Sounds like a decent price... I'm curious like JohnDeere2210... Will the machine be used for mowing? If not, then I'd take a good look 3000 series. I went with the 2520 because I wanted a lighter machine for mowing. Otherwise I proably would have gone to the 3000 series... IMO it appears to be a better value buy than the 2520. It's a heavier machine that should offer a little more grunt for heavier tasks. Not that the 2520 isn't capable... I'm thrilled to have mine coming. Just a thought...

Have fun shopping /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the replies. I was considering on try to get them to come down another $400.00 or more making the deal 18% off configured list. Somewhere I read that 15-18.5% would be a good deal for a John Deere.

I did plan on mowing with this unit in the future. I currently have 2-1/2 acres that I mow with a cheaper Garden tractor. Thought I would get the big ticket items out of the way and buy a mmm in future. But now that John deer has changed promo interest free for three years I may just add it to the package. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I’m glad to hear that you both feel that this is a good choice for mowing as I was concerned that it was on the heavy side (1865 lbs.) especially with the R4’s. Another reason I intended to hold off with the purchase of the mmm, I thought I’d try it out and see how it effect lawn by driving on it before purchasing the mmm.

I hope that this tractor is well suited for all around use that I intend it for. A little overkill on 2-1/2 acres mowing and landscaping, but I think it will be well suit to maintain 53 acres of mostly wooded property as well a pond.

I don't think it would be too heavy for mowing. My 430 garden tractor was around 1300 lbs or so and the 2520 has a bigger foot print so it should balance out OK.

I never had a problem tearing up turf with the 430 with bar tires on it unless I ripped around a corner too fast.

I plan on getting a 2320 or 2520 mainly for cutting grass and some loader / fork lift work. I like that 62D on ramp deck they have for these.

Anyone know the 200CX loader specs? I can't find anything on the JD website, and don't feel I should have to go into the dealer to just get started on my research. I can find the Kubota specs online, and it's nice to be able to have some info BEFORE going into a dealership. I'd also like to know the 3120 300CX specs.

So a 2520 is larger or smaller then the JD ten and twenty series? I see only the 4210 offers rear tillers. Yet none of the others do. Where can i find specs on the loaders, JD only lists theyre model?

Problem is that link is for JD in the UK and Ireland. Still can't find any info for US models. Maybe it's the same, but maybe the testing is slightly different. In any case, I can't understand what the big secret is. Makes me think that part of the whole thing is to get me into the dealer to make the hard sell.

I like to get a leg up on my research before going in to the dealer, so I can tell if I'm being fed too many lines. This is starting to push me away from giving Deere any serious consideration for my new machine.
