2520 w/log splitter cycle times?

Even though winter is about over, I am thinking ahead for next year....

Now that I am burning wood for heat, I'm thinking of buying a tri-axle load of wood instead of buying it cut & split.

I've done an exhaustive search on the forum, and it seems to come down to hydraulic flow being the main factor when using a 3PH splitter.

So, looking at the 2520 specs, the pump puts out 10+ GPM, but it also shows an implement flow of 5GPM.

As specs don't mean much to me on paper, I was looking for some real world information on the cycle times of a splitter on the 2520. I don't want to make the mistake of spending that kind of money on a 3PH splitter only to find that I can't stand the slow cycle times.

Anyone with a splitter on a 2520?

Cycle times will depend on both flow and cylinder size. I made a towable one last year powered from the tractor hydraulics. The splitter I used as a donor had a 4" bore cylinder on it. My times are slower than some, but I can split larger logs. For me the cost of the parts ($50.00) and what I save in physical labor to split logs was well worth the cycle time being slow.
