I already had plans to post pictures from start to finish. It has been a quality job so far, just alot of work. I have not had the time to complete everything. After the hours I have logged I got the backhoe on lockdown. Things really picked up once I learned to move myself still sitting in the back seat with the backhoe. Once I figured that out it saved me alot of time from having to jumping back and fourth to move the machine. On the bright side of this job I caught a **** of a tan.

Took a bunch of photos so should get a couple good ones that give a good idea.

Here is a quick photo to give you an idea.

Well I got mine back from the dealer, and she's working like new again. They told me that it was a crushable copper washer that failed, and that it was covered under warranty. I checked the service manual, and found that there are torque specs for those fittings. Probably a factory oversight. I am gonna call the service mgr back and confirm that it was a copper washer, because the service manual describes "O" - rings. So maybe the leak wasn't precisely where I believe it to be. Soooooo- still have questions.

I believe an oring is part of the copper washer. That is where my 2320 was leaking from as well. I think they get overtightened at the dealers and this causes the o-rings to blow. I could be blowing hot air, but after looking at my machine, that's what it looked like to my eye.

I have a jd 2320 w/ a 46 back hoe. I bought it 6 months ago and have less than 20 hours on it. I am taking back to the shop for the 3rd time for the same hydrolac leak. It is coming from the valves and leaking all over the frame.

Anyone with a 2520 having any issues with hydraulic fluid leaking?

I got 40 hours on the machine and I notice small amounts of hydraulic fluid leaking on the right rear side of the tractor.

I am hoping it is a small fix to save me from visiting the dealer, if anyone experienced anything along these lines on a 2520 would love to hear it.

The first 3 hours on my 2520 I was plowing snow with the FEL and one of the fittings began to spray fluid on the hood and on the snow. I called the service guy who instructed me to make sure the fitting was tight which turned out to be the problem. Easy fix and he even delivered 2 quarts of fluid to me that day.

Those copper washers on mine failed at 36 hours. The inside diameter of the washers is too big. I got some with a 5/8" ID and 7/8" OD they fitt better and won't distort as easily. I replaced all 8 copper washers on the 4 banjo fittings that go into the valve. I hope this helps someone out so that they don't dump hydraulic oil all over their garden like I did.
