2535 century Diesel tank neck broken out

Dealer wants over $500 for replacement tank? Any suggestions? I’ve already tried plastic weld! No go!

Can you take the tank off and take it to a repair shop in your area? Maybe it can be fixed. If not, maybe they can make you one out of aluminum to take it's place?

Depending on how aesthetically pleasing you want I'm aware of aftermarket aluminum sleeves made for plastic fuel and oil tanks of power sports equipment, snowmobiles etc (particularly Arctic scrap) sorry cat fans lol. Depending how handy you are could probably make your own steel or aluminum sleeve with a collar fastening to top of tank with mechanical fasteners and solvent resistant sealant. Imo and experience doing this to plastic fuel tanks it worked for me and is a cheap backwoods hack. Apologize for no pics.

I have successfully repaired several plastic fuel tanks in the past.
Regarding plastic weld, I would suggest the welding rod over the liquid weld. I gave up on the liquid more than a decade ago. I used a heated iron and it made the broken pieces one material. I used the correct rods with a thermal heat process. HF did not not include the HDPE in their plastic weld kit. I purchased my HDPE rod kit online with an included heating iron. One time I found enough tank material from the unfinished seam edges on the tank and I used a soldering iron to make the repair. I also think, a new sacrificial fuel can could be used to patch large areas if needed, but I have not tried this yet.
