2555 Died & Won't Start

Yep..........I work it 8 - 12 hrs. a day 6-7 days a week from the time it stops raining till it starts raining again!

What kind of maintenance schedule do you follow? What kind of work are you doing 8-12 hours a day? I'm guessing it has to do with dirt, hence the name.

I talked to the dealer this morning and they were checking on the schedule and going to get back to me. They did say transportation isn't covered under warranty, which I thought was the case. I haven't heard anything yet but there are several variables so I expect to hear something in the next couple days.

The dealer brought me a 3550 HST today and picked up my 2555. The 3550 is a much different tractor than my 2555 shuttle, so it's going to take some getting used to. I do really like where the loader control is compared to my tractor.

I'm hoping that my problem is something like a bare wire or fuse, but I'm not hopeful. I will post an update when I hear from the dealer.

You will probably beg him to leave the 3550 and keep the 2555...... [[[ :) ]]]

Maintenance.......well I change the oil about every 500-600 hrs. (RedLine 15W/40 synthetic only) along with the 500 hr. oil filter. Blow out the air filter at least once a week & change it about every 6 months and grease it about every 3-4 days (synthetic also).

Now as for the work............not dirt work, 98% of it is High Weed mowing; 2% 'tilling. Presently working on a 280 acre mowing.

Update: I called the dealer last week and they still haven't worked on my tractor. Their service manager said that they would get to it this past week, but alas, still no word from them. I'm not complaining though, as I have the 3550 to put hours on! I do like the size of the tractor as well as the loader control, but I do not like the HST. I prefer to push on the gas pedal and the engine to rev instead of having to run the hand throttle up, but I'm not going to complain about a loaner tractor. I will hopefully update this week when I hear from the dealer.

Mountain Farm called me one day last week and told me that they had sold the 3550 that I was using and needed to pick it up that morning. I was in dress clothes since I was at work, which I was not too happy about. I sat the tractor out and they brought me a 4530 later that afternoon. I went to start it the next day and the battery was dead...this made me pretty upset. I called the dealer and they were supposed to send somebody out the next day to fix it. Well...they did not. I ended up having to jump the tractor myself - we will see if it stays charged or not. I left a message with the service manager and he never called me back. I called again this morning and spoke to the service manager who said he was busy and would call me back. Two hours later...still no call. I have tried to reach out to the owner, but alas, he isn't available either. At this point I'm considering looking at kubotas if they can't get my 2555 fixed.

I got ahold of the owner of Mountain Farm and explained what was going on. He said Mahindra has been greatly affected by Harvey and their parts hadn't shipped for several weeks. He then got the service manager to call me back and give me an update. There are a couple tractors ahead of mine that should be getting out of their shop in the next couple days, then mine is up. The problem is either the engine seized up or a clutch assembly that has blown up. I was surprised about the clutch but he said they had another tractor with similar symptoms to mine that had that issue. He also is going to get me a new battery for the 4530 that I have now so that I won't have any more issues.

The dealer replaced the battery in the 4530 loaner tractor today. The dealer called today and said that I have a bad timing gear bearing. It apparently has a grease point, but I'm not sure if I have ever greased it. I hit all of the grease points I see but I don't know if that is one that I have consistently greased or not. Needless to say, I am looking forward to getting my tractor back.
