Is there any special trick to changing out the fuel filter on the 2555? Do I need to shut off the fuel somehow? Or it as simple as unplugging the sensor, removing the sensor, spinning old filter off, and reversing the process with the new filter?

I'll second that question. I need to replace mine as well.

Take a photo- I’m sure it looks like something TBN has seen

Hi dwsdad. I snagged my fuel line (hose) from the tank to the fuel filter housing, while cutting brush. It tore the hose and the engine stopped. I'm a retired auto mechanic, but with not much, if any, diesel experience. I repaired the hose, but I couldn't get the engine started. I call the local Mahindra dealer and they sent a mechanic out to help. He bled the fuel system at the filter housing. The engine was turned over, by the starter, for a about 20 seconds, and it started. Everything was fine. I didn't realize this tractor uses an electric fuel pump, not a mechanical pump, driven by the engine. The mechanic said if I had the newer model, a 2655, the fuel tank would drain itself if the discharge hose was torn. My tank was 3/4 full and the fuel did not syphon out of the tank. I would ask a dealer, but I think it can be changed without losing fuel or having to disconnect anything or shut a valve. I haven't replaced my fuel filter, so I'm no expert. Good luck!

Fill the new filter with fuel before you install it. This keeps as much air as possible, out of the system.

You unplug the connector and it is a spin-off filter but I can't remember, I believe on the 2555 there is a bolt that holds the line on the discharge line to the filter housing and I think that piece rubs against the filter unless you loosen the bolt but I can't remember for sure. If you try to spin it off and it is hard to turn then look at that discharge side piece.

There isn't a fuel shutoff either. I'd suggest wrapping the fuel hose with something to protect it and clamping it to squeeze off the fuel flow before removing the filter.
