How many at y'all's Thanksgiving?

We had 26 at my side's gathering last Sunday, ages from nearly six months to 82. And we had 41 at wife's side yesterday (Thanksgiving Day) with ages from nearly six months to 89.

Instead of trying to have everybody at our house as we did for twenty or more years the yearly event is not at the BOB (Building Out Back) at our church. Plenty of tables seats and room for the little ones to run wild. Well,...as wild as parents let them. The younger ones always have fun with cousins they may only see once a year.

I ate too much both days.

Only had two problems, a burnt pan of corn due to setting eye on new stove wrong. And the nearly six month old granddaughter had a 'blow out' that got on her aunt and oldest cousin's tops. Glad that happened after we ate. And both victims had extra tops in their vehicles.

And I ate too much both days.

For anything even near 26 it would have to be out here at my place. I have 80 acres. Our Thanksgiving gathering was at my son's house. He lives in town( Spokane ). There were five of us - and Brownie.

A lot, whole family at the University Club in Lansing, Michigan. My wife's turn to do it and we opted for that, well she did.

Total bill was just shy of 600 bucks and I left the tip. No cooking, no mess and we had everything from smoked salmon to prime rib to fresh shrimp to deserts to coffee and booze. I think 18 or so. Private room too. It's a buffet for people who want to get gout.
I dislike turkey anyway. I cannot eat something that is so dumb (domesticated turkey) that of they don't have food in front of their face, they will die from starvation and wild turkey is so tough, only the breast meat is edible and even that is tough.

Started out with 2 big slices of prime rib with horseradish, macaroni and cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs then a plate load of shrimp, some smoked salmon, rolls, butter, caviar (in limited amounts), then a salad (I always do the meat part first), then off to the dessert table for a couple slices of pumpkin pie with real whipped cream on top, finished with a real big Cappuccino and I didn't even drive, wife did.

WoW!!! 5030 - after all that grub - they would have to "roll" me out to the Taco Wagon. I've had gout before. Have to watch out for - red meat, shrimp and smoked salmon. I can eat it, but not pig out. For those who have had a bout with gout - you know what I mean.

We had 20. We were 5 short due to sickness or other commitments. It was good to visit with family I don't get to see as often as I wish. We had a blessed day for sure.

I was surprised to have several invites from neighbors, friends and relatives since mom passed 6 months ago.

Destination my brothers as all the nieces and nephews home for Thanksgiving.

Table rounded at 18…

The kids are all are close enough in age to be away at college and a real plus for the airline industry… just like most of their friends.

Six people, four dogs. Just right for our little house. Aged four to seventy. I’m thankful for both my people family and my dog family.

We only had 34 at Mom's house. Five generations in one house and even an exchange student from Spain and mother-in-law from Germany. It was good to see everyone and wished we had the rest who were unable to make it. Mom's 90th birthday is in a couple weeks and there will be more for that event.

Just 3 of the 4 kids, plus us was a nice round 8 at the table, plus daughter's black lab waiting in the wings.

@oosik didn't think I over did it, but gout grabbed my big toe yesterday. I literally feel your pain.

7 total here. Myself, 2 sisters, niece and respective spouses (one sister's SO had his own family obligations). Mother passed away a couple months ago, so this was the last Thanksgiving in the family home. Combination potluck dinner and family meeting for sisters and me to discuss estate crap, prep house for sale, etc. For once an enjoyable family get together.
