The decompression feature on my 2610D does not work. The levers, on the vavle cover, will rotate about 30 degrees but apparently not enough. I can not determine from the parts manual, how this feature works. Are the vavles held open to obtain decompression. Do I have to pull the vavle cover to make the necessary repairs? Thanks for the help.

The valves are held open, try to lubruicate the linkage and valves before you tear it apart. It will usually loosen up.

Take the cable loose and try it at the valve cover , using the lever. There isn't much rotation to the lever.

I have a 2610D here in my barn if you need for me to look at anything on it for you.
Just ask. Ern. <><

It would be helpful to know how far past vertical the levers are when the decompression is activated. Thanks

Hawkins:
when I pull back the lever on the dash on the 2610-d
The 3 levers next to the valve cover are a perfect
straight up & down, to decompress
when its fushed in its about 30 degrees forward.
I hope that helps you out
