Did some cross referencing and purchased some new oil filters for my 2610D.

Here is what I have found. Wix 51568 fit my tractor! Also I have confirmed that NAPA 1568 fits also ($12), STP S2802 fits ($3.49), Moble M1-104 fits ($9).

Also, (UNCONFIRMED) Fram PH 5046, AC Delco PF1051, CARQUEST 85568, Motorcraft FL803, Purolator L24458.

Autozone has the STP, and Moble M1-104

Lots of filters will "fit". That doesn't make them a proper, or even acceptable, application. Do you know if they have the proper micron rating, flow rating, and bypass valve setting? Do they have an anti-drainback valve? Is the burst pressure adequate to the application?

Be cautious as to what you put on. The 51568 does have proper specs per Wix, but it is risky to assume a filter is appropriate just because it fits.

The moble 1 filter has a super high burst rating. It also has bypass valve for cold starting and micron rating is super low.

Not sure what the specs are?? If someone could tell me the specs I could look up, but the wix filter is much larger than the ones I got from Hoyles. IE longer but same diameter. I will tare into one of the Hoyles filters next oil change and compare it with the STP filters. For $4 I will sacrafice one of those.

I think you will be happy with what you find. About 2 years ago we contracted with a company here in the USA to make all of our oil filters (and most of our air filters) for us. They are one of the top filter manufacturers in the world. All of our oil filters were designed specifically to work on the Yanmar diesel engine. A filter is not the place to try to save a few pennies.

I agree with the quality aspect, What I have a problem with is paying three times the price of the filter in shipping. I have a Chinese tractor that has a three-cylinder diesel and the Wix has worked very well for nine years and the engine is still running great.

Longrider I have 3 or more filters that I bought from Aaron a while back that I am not going to use. After I installed my PS on my 2210d the longer filters do not work as well for me and I need to use the shorter version. I would be willing to sell them to you at a descent price depending on what shipping would cost me. Let me know if you are interested.

Rock2610D,

The YM2610 is basically the same thing as a John Deere 850. Just that the YM2610 has the PowerShift and the multi-select PTO. Soooo, the filters are easy to obtain.

The John Deere oil filter for the 3T80 engine and many other Yanmar based engines for them is M801002.

You can do a cross reference to the JD filter here ...
JOHN-DEERE M812 - 147 oil filter cross reference

Now, for the YM2610 without a front end loader, the taller filter can be used ... WIX or Fram . I use either of these on my YM2610. Order thru Rockauto for just under $3 each in a bulk 6 or 12 pack package.

When you are at Rockauto, you can look up the full details of each filter part number;

EDITED: Do not use the ones I had listed. They hit the oil pressure sensor and will not install.

Those taller filters (5 inches) sound like they are for the hydraulics.

Here are some notes I prepared after reading posts here, then some research. Do your own research before relying on this!
> (most) YM's take the same filter as most Honda and Subaru cars from that era so you can find them anywhere.

I use the Napa 1334. The Napa 1365 and 1064 also work. (Wix #'s are the same with a '5' prefix). These all have M20 x 1.5 threads. Also Mobil 1 M1-108 and M1-110.

>Just for knowledge sake here are the differences in the 3 Napa filters.
[Seems to me that 'bypass' is only relevant if the oil is so dirty, or cold, that it clogs the filter!]

1334 9-11gpm, 8-11 psi bypass, 19 micron - 3" tall for YM186D
1365 9-11gpm, 8-11 psi bypass, 21 micron
1064 9-11gpm, 16 psi bypass, 21 micron

also
# 1568, 2.68" tall (short filter for tight clearance locations)

================
Hydraulic filter for the US Yanmars (Japan YM's too?):

I own a YM186D and found Baldwin lists the hydraulic filter for this application: Baldwin B2. Baldwin shows it is a broad-application oil/hydraulic filter.

Then back into NAPA's crossreference table. NAPA's version of B2 is

NAPA 1515.
Specs on NAPA's site:
Link: Part Details
including :
Height: 5.197"
Max Flow Rate: 7-9 GPM
Nominal Micron Rating: 21
Thread size, inches: 3/4" x 16 TPI

NAPA 1515 seems to be the oil filter widely used by Ford and others from 1957 to Y2K. (PH8A)

(I see Baldwin also mentions a similar 'short version', (NAPA 1085, Height: 3.836")

and NAPA also lists a similar, larger '2 quart' version.)

We have seen posts here cautioning that a filter intended for an engine doesn't flow as much volume as a native hydraulic filter, so check this!

I use the Wix 51525 (NAPA 1515) on the YM186D. Its hydraulic pump is rated around 4 GPM while the NAPA 1515 filter is rated 7~9 GPM.

OK, just changed the oil tonight as the weather has gotten down to 1F last week. Forget the PH8A filter. It's 5mm too fat to fit. The oil pressure sensor is in the way.

The WIX 51344 & 51568 both fit. PH3593A/PH9688 (same filter) was only available in my area. So, I had to opt for the PH3593A tonight. The filter can not be larger in outside diameter of 85.725 [3.375-inches] because of the oil pressure sensor hex prevent anything larger from spinning on. .

The Fram PH5046 is a direct match to YANMAR 124450-35110, YANMAR 124550-35110, YANMAR 171056-35110, & YANMAR 171056-35111. It seems these are 'special order' from most autoparts stores. It's also the popular alternative for the John Deere's with Yanmar engines.

The PH5046 is stated not to be a true Fram PHxx EG Series filter.

In the comments, a person says ...
This filter is listed by Fram for a tractor like Case, Deere, Komatsu or Yanmar. How did you know it would do the job on a 2002 Accord or be any better than a PH3593?
