This is a 2625 2009 Bought new in March of this year. We have not purchased new tractor for a long time. We had a deal on a TN 70 [used] for 7500 dollars less. We have an AGCO dealer 4 miles from farm, they didnt have something similar used but he said if you can sacrafice a few horsepower and add 7500 dollars why not go new? We drove another 2625 it didnt have remotes or the larger tires and things seemed ok. So I would rather deal with someone close to home than further away. AGCO says the 2650 HD is alot better, we have been pressing them to trade since it was locked up in the shop but it goes on we are "working on it". Quite frankly I would like to get our money back or close to it and go to another color. One of the things they mentioned was to extend the warranty, again tell that to hungry mouths when the 2625 is down. The tractor has had a new tach and now it says 25 hours. What is a reasonable thing to do?

The reason for buying an economy tractor is because my son is 26 he bought it has no extra money. My dealer assured us it would be a good fit. Also he mows the curbs around our local business park. He does not have the money to buy two tractors one for mowing and one for chores. I paid the $7500 difference. This tractor is made by a company that I had high expectations for and did not think economy would mean cheap and unreliable. I have not got cows it is all him. He or we started this farming thing did not walk into or marry into a long line of farmers so you do not always have a lot of extra money laying around when your building and not maintaining what you recieved from other generations. One would reasonably think a new tractor would equate to something more reliable than used,I guess that is why I / we are so upset.

I really hope they fix you up. Area rep should be called if dealer is of no help.

Got a call from a guy in Duluth but missed it this evening. He said he will be in his office in the morning.
Not farming full time and trying to get things set up for my son is real trying. I try to keep all my equiptment in top shape but it seems I put out fires often. Today after feeding bales we moved things around in the hog buildings we needed light to do this. My son then went to feed bales in the dark to his heifers and I went on home. He called me 30 minutes later and said "do you want to hear the latest?" The lights quit working. Probably no big deal but cutting net wrap in the dark it just seems huge. My 40 year old 856 IH the lights do work on it {over 8000 hours}, as do the 1486, and the 3588 IH.
The area rep has been called numerous times and Duluth. I guess having the bar set by an 856 just isnt being fair to the 2625 and AGCO. What more can I say?

Like a lot of the folks on this site I've owned Green, Red, and Blue tractors. All have been good machines. Currently I own a Massey Ferguson 593 which was the one of predecessors to the new HD2600 series. I've had this tractor for about 5 years, it has not had any problems yet. The last Massey I had was 17 years old and only one minor problem with it.

My neighbor has owned a Massey 2625 for about 2 years and only one minor problem. That doesn't mean that you don't have a lemon.

All the different brands of tractors break down. I have heard that AGCO usually stands behind their products.

Good luck with your tractor.

Craig
