I've been having some tire issues with the fronts. The dealer tells me they are not happy with the fronts that have been coming on the BX's. He said the wheels are good, but they've been getting a lot of front flats. I've searched the archives on this topic and saw the "slime" discussion. I'm kind of a mind to just get some better front tires and be done with it. Not knowing my "you know what" from my elbow on tractor tires, who makes darned good fronts for the BX's? The mechanic did say that they have not seen any problems with the rears. Thanks!

Well, I took the opposite approach and had tires replaced until they found one that held air as it was under warranty.

Sorry, but I don't know who makes tires that size, I usually buy Firestones or Michellin for the bigger tractors since Good Year quit marketing them.

I didn't want to get the dealer to fix the problem because I thought that I could do it myself quicker and with less hassle. Thus I just dismounted the wheel and broken the bead around the rim. Then added some bead sealer to both sides of the tire bead where it meets the rim. The problem was only on one front tire. That fixed it. Of course, this was after several months of adding air to that tire and trying to figure out what was wrong with it.:(

I've had several BX's with this problem. I've tubed them and solved the problem. Possible cause is tires slip on rim, not necessarily bad tires. The bead sealer sold by Advance auto parts or any auto parts that sells it is what I would try if I ever had the problem again. The last time was a BX2660 and my dealer paid for the tube and installed it. My current BX25 with 50 hours over a couple or 3 months with I/R4's does not have "the problem".
I've looked at Slime, I've even picked it up and carried it around the store but could never bring myself to buying a product that says on it that it is only good for a couple of years. Not saying I won't ever buy it but up to this point I haven't.

Correction. John usually trades his tractors in when they get a flat.

I only did that one time with a BX2350. The rest of them I fixed before trading.:)
The rest of the story on the BX2350 I traded in with the leaking front tire....the new BX2660 I traded to also had a leaking front tire. That's the one the dealer (Barlows) fixed with a tube per my approval/request over getting another tire.
