You know how you buy something in a store and you get it home and think it looked smaller at the store. I just went through this after my new 2710 was delivered yesterday. I have a 40x40 Morton building that just got a whole lot smaller. My wife's exact words were "What do you think you are going to do with that?". Well I first parked it out in front of our house for all the neighbors to see. My previous tractor was a Sears 18 HP Garden Tractor and my neighbors enjoyed watching me mow my 4 acres with it. So I thought why not let my neighbors get a real good look and drool over my new addition. Is this bad? You see I am surrounded by Simplicity, JD, and Cub Cadet tractors and I thought I deserved a little attention. I wish I had a dollar for every person driving by that almost ran into the ditch turning to look. I did however make my first newbie mistake. I mounted a set of lights to the bottom of the ROPS thinking that under the ROPS would protect them. It worked great except for one thing. After I sat on the tractor and saw a very large and dark shadow cast in front of me, I realized my mistake. So, tomorrow I will simply rotate them to the top and life goes on.

Congratulations on your new work mate! I suppose you will be like all the others, we won't hear from you for a few days while you're busy getting acqainted!!! Except for Harv, of course, who goes through separation anxiety when he has to leave his new baby and go home. Gotta feel sorry for him. Have fun!

Rob, congratulations on your new acquisition. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my new 2910. Actually, I hope you enjoy it only 27/30 as much as I enjoy mine, so I can continue to justify the extra 3 hp I bought.

I have about 55 hours of tractor time now, and an awful lot is just from driving around and preening. I park it outside my bedroom on my grass so I can look at it, and even drive it to walk my dogs on my back acreage. I also drive it to the gas station. People look; I grin.

Glenn, have you thought about a carry-all with a box on it to 'carry' the pups to the walking grounds? Should be able to generate a little more tractor time by going to a further walking area!

Scruffy, I have something like that, a 3ph dump cart. It is 3' x 3' x 1' with a dump feature. If the dogs were still puppies I might do exactly that. As it is, Max, the stickaholic German Shepard, loves to trot along next to the tractor. He gets all excited when I stop to dig with the loader and tries to help out with the digging. (I am careful.) Sasha, the Tibetan princess Lhasa Apso, likes to sit on my lap. She feels this is her entitled position, so that she can lord it over Max from a regal height.

Congratulations, Rob! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I can certainly relate to how you feel. I've had my L2500 for several weeks now, but as Scruffy pointed out I don't get to see it nearly as much as I would like to. I have all of about 5 hours in the seat, so you'll probably pass me up in the next few days. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Know what you mean about showing off for the neighbors -- it's all part of the total experience. The outspoken guy next door to my "tractor" property was forever goading me with his B2150 before I made my purchase. Then, on my second day in the seat, I looked up from my current work site and saw him watching me from up by the house, about 100 yards away. I took the opportunity to drive up and introduce him to my new pride and joy -- as I approached I saw him nodding and smirking, but when I got closer and closer I saw his expression change and his jaw slowly dropped. When I came to a halt a few feet in front of him, his first words were, "Holy s__t!!! You got a big one!

That moment was worth the 14 grand right then and there. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

I hope you have many such moments, and my advice -- enjoy them to the max.

Hope you get some tractor time this weekend, and again congratulation on your new Kubota.

Congratulations on your new 2710. If you're like most of us who have gotten new tractors over the past few years you're going to experience two problems.
1) Your face will hurt from the never-ending smile
2) Your fanny will be sore from not being able to part with the seat
Enjoy!

I just noticed Harv went gold already. That has to be SOME kind of record!! (I look forward to a year from now when Harv will be dispensing some sage advice to the newbies, fondly remembering when he was one himself........)
