Kubota B2710
I've seen Bird and others post that on the 2710 they've gone to a two filter/one strainer setup on the hst. Has anyone actually seen one with two filters? On my tractor there is a casting that looks like it might (in some future design) take a filter but certainly doesn't take one now as the discharge piping from the right side(starboard) strainer passes directly overhead.

When I went to the local guy he looked up in his computer and found the parts list indicated two filters. I told him my serial number and he said that is appears that all 2710's take two filters. I was sure that I only needed one filter as I looked before going into the shop (Thanks Bird). Walked outside and looked at the machine on his lot and it needed only one.

My machine is a 2001 (purchased date)...Serial number is low 15000's...The Kubota logo on the front is a K (I think the logo has changed frequently and this may help to determine a model year).

I am intrigued...Is this just a documentation problem? or Has Kubota actually changed the design?

If you care to share...What do you have, your model year and approx. serial number?

Thanks,

Well, you sure got me confused./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Of course, that ain't hard to do. I have a '99 B2710 (one hydraulic filter on the left side and strainers on both sides). Someone else posted the message about his dealer doing some major modifications to have two spin on filters, not me. However, I've looked at both a B2910 and a new B2710 on a dealer's lot, and they both had the two hydraulic filters; one on each side.

My parts list shows 2710 with serial 15496 and lower have only 1 filter. All serial #s above 50101 and have 2 filters. I don't know what Serial numbers between 15496 and 50101 have. All 2910's have 2 filters.

I have a 2710, serial number 51889, and I have 2 filters. Delivered 1st week of May '01. By the way, I am about to do the 50 hour service, and I am curious where the strainers are everyone keeps referring to. Can anyone post a photo showing where they are? If not, can anyone tell me which page in the parts list book (PDF file you can download for free from tractorsmart.com) I could find the exploded parts view on?

PaulT, my B2710 is an early one with only one spin on filter (left side) and two strainers, so you may not have the right side strainer; I'm not sure. However, my right hand strainer is shown on page F06-L (and is called "filter, oil") and the left side strainer is shown on page F07-R (also called "filter, oil") in the parts manual. Page 54 of the Operator's Manual also shows them. It uses the word "strainer" (singular), but has two pictures showing one on either side.
