272 Curtis gearbox on a 272 grooming mower 3 point hitch.

Have a 1989 Curtis Grooming mower, in great shape, however the gearbox got damaged with a bad barring and now need to repair vereticle shaft and barrings. John Deere sold them. They now no longer make the gearbox and shaft. Any ideas on where to go to repair the gear box?

Unit is three point hitch, yellow in color, three mower blades, and run by a belt.
