I am considering the purchase of a John Deere 2720 or a Kubota 3200. I really like to looks of the 2720 but am a little concerned that I may not be able to do much in high range with all the hills around here. For those of you that own one can you do any loader work or box blade work in high or is it only use full as a transport mode.

Thanks,

Qball

I think there are two parts to that question:

1. Is there enough power to do those things in H?
2. Would you ever want to?

For example, for any serious loader work I can't max out my speed in L without bouncing around enough to have everything fall out of the bucket so whether I have the power to go up a hill in H with a full bucket is mostly irrelevant. About the only time a little more speed may be nice in L is mowing, but even then I'd rather not do it in H since I'd need to finesse the speed around my many obstacles. If I had a flat field to mow instead of a yard with trees that may be another story, but I'm fairly happy with the two-speed gearing and the eHydro control.
