Or you could try and get that bedding on pallets and get forks! )
I know that, I was just saying in general, that's what anyone buys one for. I'm not giving him the gears for shoveling.
As far as the utility carts go, I know for sure they will serve 1 good purpose. When we buy bags of horse bedding, we have to carry them from the house to the barn, which is about 500 feet one way. 50 bags at 40 lbs a bag and your tired pretty quick! With a cart I could load some in there and some in the bucket, be done in 2 trips!
BethesdaEC said:Get pallet forks, the 2520 will carry 1000 lbs comfortably, that is two trips and you can throw the pallets in the pickup that way you just scoop them out of the pickup. Beats loading into a cart and then unloading at the barn. Look at the Artillian forks, they are light and strong and leave more lifting capacity for payload.
The pickup is only a half ton, no way in **** would I put a 2,000 lb skid into a half ton pickup truck, that is careless and stupid.
That only leaves one option, we have to do 2 trips when we get these bags, 25 bags per trip. When we get home with them, sure I could put them on a pallet to get to the barn, but they have to be unloaded at the other end and carried inside anyways, so really, a cart works just as well.

As for the carts, you really seem to be set on getting them, we are just trying to impart some wisdom and prevent you from spending money on an awkward solution when your money would be spent towards purchasing pallet forks. I had a cart from my lawn tractor before my 2520 and once I purchased the 2520 I never used it again. I finally got tired of it taking up space and sold it on craigslist.
Go through the logistics of moving a load with the trailer, first you need to drop your rear ballast box or implement so you can tow it with your draw bar. Now you can't safely use your loader because you don't have a counterweight. If you want to use your loader anyways to load the trailer you will need unhook the trailer, fill it and attempt to reconnect the trailer which is going to be very heavy. Now stay away from the hills because you rear tires are going to be very light.
I think anyone interested in homesteading, small farm and or raising some animals is well served with a tractor and a 3/4 ton pickup.... very useful.
