273 New/Old Issue Hydraulics and Gauges

Mines now three years old with some pretty hard use, and mine doesn't leak. Gauge clusters are moisture kings for sure. At some point I'm going to take mine out and silicone it to make it seal properly.

Only happens when its left outside and moisture gets inside rain or snow.

I've been using the recovery bottle method for about a year and a half. That's the only effective fix I've found so far. As far as contamination----I've not seen anything odd in the recovery bottle and the hst has a filter for contamination. As far as I'm concerned TYM will never fix the problem and hydraulic fluid is WAAAAY too expensive to spew out on the ground. Oh---I also sealed the holes in the vent cap with plumbers goop and just let the blow-off come out the vent hose to the bottle.

If you ship the cap and turn it 180 degrees it stops the hydraulic fluid for comming out of the vent cap. The hole on the cap has to be facing the rear of the HST unit for this not to leak and the only way to do this is by shimming the cap with gaskets.
