I am upgrading my log splitter which I built 40 years ago.
I used s tecumseh 10 hp HH100 and a Viking 22 gpm pump.
It has operated flawlessly other than being slightly under powered when pushing max pressure of 2500psi which would slowly stall the engine.
I rescued a 16 HP 320000 series Cast iron Briggs&Stratton with electric start and gave it a complete rebuild with a new +0.010 piston and standard OEM connecting rod and electronic ignition.
To complete my upgrade I want to purchase a 28 gpm 2 stage pump that is made in the USA.
My research lead me to believe Haldex/Concentric/Barnes were made in the USA but talking to Northern Hydraulics I was told they are also made in China.
I can buy a dynamic and most other brands (China) for $260 but the Haldex, Concentric, Barns goes for $400 plus.
Made in USA and quality with repair parts availability is my goal.
Looking for your thoughts on this.
