Stopped by the mahindra dealer. They had a "leftover" 2810 w/ 35hrs...tried it out and loved it until I went into a pile of gravel. It would not lift little more than half a bucket full. Is this normal?
The machine is nice but it has been sitting out causing the plastic and metal to fade at different shades....some brownishish some pinkish - rust on 3pt hitch along with hydraulic connections. Dealer insists on getting $15,000. I think he's $2,000 too much. The 2615 gear was lighter but seemed to lift more. I was very impressed but the NH TC30 gear seems to be a much better deal at $14,500. Please and thanks for any input ASAP...special finacing only good for a few more days.

The 2810 is a very well built heavy machine with a very POOR lift capacity,
I would spend a couple more pennies and go with the 2815 or the 2615.
The 2815 will lift more than the 2615 and way more than the 2810.
You didn't mention if the 2810 was a hydro or gear.
If you are buying a gear go for the 2815 it has a shuttle.
The 2815 will run circles around and out lift the NH.

The 2810 and 2810HST use the ML108 and ML108H loaders... both rated at 1,100 lbs lift to full height at pivot pins. The 2615 4WD uses the ML106 loader rated at 1,050 lbs lift to full height at pivot pins. The 2615 has a bit more hydraulic flow, so it may have felt a little stronger at the same RPM level. Assuming both were run at the same (and reasonable) engine RPM level, a noticeable difference in lifting performance could indicate that something was set-up wrong with the 2810.

The bottom line is that you try them all, you price them all out... and then you decide what works best for you. Certainly don't pay more money for a faded, leftover machine with a non-performing loader. That makes no sense at all.

That doesn't seem like a bad price on the TC30. Between the 15 series Mahindra and the NH TC30, I'd choose the Mahindra. Newer design, more refined, with some standard extra features, tilt wheel, shuttle, stronger loader, etc.
As much as I like my 2810HST, I agree with Rick on the Loader. That tractor should have been supplied with a higher capacity loader.
With the 2810 apprearing faded and a little rusty, there should be negotiating room or he's going to have it for awhile longer. It is, after all used. With 35 hours on it, it may have been a demo or yard tractor at the dealer or even a return. Still, it doesn't equate to new to me.

I don't own or sell either brand listed, but I would choose the New Holland (if for no orther reason - resale value).

If resale value matters most, forget New Holland. Go with John Deere or maybe Kubota.

If the main concern is the tractor's resale value, you probably haven't done enough shopping yet. Try to find (and buy) a tractor that meets all of your needs and that you'll want to keep for a very long time! :)

I prefer a gear or shuttle because thats all I've owned. Tried hydros and not that comfotable with. As far a resale value goes I never seem to sell anything - still have '7? case 680ck I bought in the 80's. Its getting tired (the hydro shuttle is the weakness) and I need 4wd to get in woods and make trails for the heavy 2wd backhoe. Speaking of kubota, I tried a L3400 - it was OK. Tried JD 3203 it was ok but was turned off by The made in CHINA facing me on the loader post (i admit its silly but after being burned by one of those CHINA Diesel clone y2k generators....the stories I could tell about that piece of $%*! )
Just want to see what else was out there and I see Mitsubishi makes Mahindra engines..and I have had good luck with mits engines...but never heard of Mahindra before recently.
Wallace I could not find a 2815 shuttle on Mahindra web site. Is that an older model?

Thanks again I am grateful for info

I believe the 2815 gear is a shuttle shift.
