2815 HST?

Are there any 2815HST owners on here? I've searched and can't find anyone who has bought a 2815 and have only found 1 or 2 posts from people who have bought a 3215 HST.

Dealers - Are you guys selling many of the 2815s? I looked at this tractor a couple of weeks ago and I like it, but would like to hear from actual owners. Will the 2815 run a 6' finish mower? Is the hood plastic on the 2815? I noticed the plastic fender flares. Are their tubes in the tires? I would want to add windshield washer fluid to the rears, but don't want to damage the rims.

I don't own one ...yet, if I can sell my 2015 hst I plan on purchasing a 3215 hst.

I don't think the 2815 will have any problem with the 6' mower

Yes, the hood is plastic but it seems to be a good design

I feel sure the tires are tubeless.

Another question. How is the PTO engaged on the 2815? Is it by the flip of a switch or do you use the clutch to engage? I'm hoping the latter.

My 2615 runs a 6' rfm no problem so I'm sure the 2815 will do fine also. I can't say anything as far as the plastic hood is concerned, 2615 is metal. My 2615 has tubless tires, so I'm guessing the 2815 does also!

MDM, if I'm not mistaken all the 15 series are made by Mitsubishi and the PTO is engaged via clutch and lever.

The 2815 hst & 3215 hst use a clutch and manual lever to engage the pto and the 3215 shuttle shift has independent electric over hydraulic clutch engagement.
The 2815 hst should have no problem with running the 72" finish mower. I have customers running 72" finish mowers with 2310 tractors with no problem and I have a customer who runs a 84" mower with a 3015 hst.

With the HST, the clutch runs the PTO, yet the tractor travel is done with the hydro pedal. Essentially, the PTO and tractor travel become independent of one another, with the exception of everything stopping when the clutch is depressed. It's a nice system for HST tractors. If you want to stop but keep the mower going, just don't depress the clutch. You basically have an independent PTO, yet it is very simple.

As far as the two stage clutch on the 2615 4wd vs the iPTO on the 3215 4wd, the iPTO is a better system in my opinion. Both work great, but 2 stage clutches always release higher which is a little bit annoying if you are used to a lower release point.
