I was looking at the Montana web-site and noticed the 2840 & 3040 tractors. Are they Mitsu powered versions of the 2740 & 3240 Daedong powered tractors? I see FarmTrac has/had a new model in the 3030DT that looks like a Mitsu powered 270DTC which has a Daedong engine. Could it be that LG is phasing out the Daedong engine? Seems they have a transition going on.

The 2840 is replacing the 2740 and both are very good tractors. I've never had a Daedong or Mitsubishi problem. The 3240 is the same tractor as the 2740, with a little larger engine.
The 3040 is a completely different tractor with a lot more features than the 2740 or 3240 as these are "value" compacts. The 3040 has a 12 x 12 vs an 8 x 8, draft control on the three point and adjustable stops for both position and draft, a folding ROPS, electric hydraulic PTO vs two stage clutch, rear work light, two sets of remotes, etc.
It is a step up from the 2740 and 3240 and the next step is a 3840. If you aren't too tall, these have been an awesome tractor!! In this series, the 4540 has a little more leg room and is a very powerful compact!!
The R series is the next step with cable controlled loaders, tilt wheel, flatter operating platform, larger seat area, cup holder, etc. Designed with more operator comfort and the same LG/LS quality and Mitsubishi power.
