I was very impressed with the new Massey. The air blew cold almost immediately, smooth shifts, loader worked great.
They had hydro versions of the 2860 and 50, but I tried out a power shuttle.
That being said i bought a 5055e cab and loader with the 12x12 ps. It has more cab room and weight and they threw in the quick hitch and radio on top of being about 2k less.
To be fair the Massey should be compared to the 4066r i believe, but for my needs, Apple and chestnut orchard plus close to 80 acres in old pasture, I went with the 5 series utility tractor. 20200910_110336.jpg20200910_110344.jpg20200910_105800.jpg

Congrats on the purchase and thanks for the update!!!

Wow, the JD was cheaper than the Massey??

I'm wondering what features the Massey offered that the JD doesn't have? The E series JD is a more basic model. But I'm not familiar enough with either to compare them.

Thanks again for the update and pics!!!! Now we need pics of the new JD!!!! :)

Thanks! They have to install the loader and radio, but they are supposed to deliver it next Friday.
59hp with 40.1pto hp. The hyd flow is less than the Massey, but the loader has more lift though I forget the specifics now.
It does have an overdrive on the pto for light duty cutting to save fuel. 20200910_124943.jpg20200910_124954.jpg

Did you find a MF 2860M yet. I have one with 15 hours on it. The guy had a contract to cut and maintain grass and weeds and then they flew the coup.

Yes, they had the hydro and shuttle shift models both this fall at Cox Implement in Hoxie AR.
May still have them.
