@deezler my CK2610 requires the tractor to be in neutral to start as well. I purchased it in 2022, but I don't know if it was built that year or not.

I had a manual thumb on my CK30 BH, useful but a pain to use. When I got my DK40 I added a hydraulic thumb to it's BH. I use it all the time and wouldn't be without it.
Neutral vs Brake- I think the HST units need to be in neutral to start and the gear units need to have the brake on to start.

Congrats on the tractor.
I got in the habit of shifting to neutral after I shut the tractor off. Its like muscle memory now. So when I go to start it, I just push the brake pedal and fire.
But I store mine inside, so its not like it is going to roll anywhere.

But yes, the newer cabbed tractors have seat, brake, and neutral switches.
I installed a pigtail to eliminate the seat switch. I don't have to be in the cab to start it. And I no longer have to shift to neutral or set the parking brake to get out of the machine while its running. But most of my property is pretty flat, I wouldn't recommend it if you have lots of hills.
