I have a (high as I see from the posts.) quote of
18,500 + tax from a local dealer for a

2910HST
LA402
and 60" MMM
w/ 150 hrs on tractor/FEL
Was a rental unit.

I have yet to talk to another dealer. i am also researching buying from another state to save the 1500 in tax!

What about should I counter-offer. This is what I should get a new one for. He seems unwilling to budge.

Also has used a L3010 and FEL for 16,9 and and 3710, FEL for 18,2
both have just under 200hrs.

Of all those choices, the 3710 @ 18.2K looks like it might be the best deal. Outside of that, what is it that you need. All three of those are nice tractors, but I think it would be overkill to get a 3710 (for example), if your primary need was mowing. Also, if you needed to do some heavy lifting, the 2910 or 3010 might be too little tractor.

What I'm trying to say is that it helps to know what your requirements are before you start comparing those tractors. However, if I was looking at those choices, I would probably go for the 3010 or the 2910, as the 3710 would be too big for my uses.

Cornflake, I don't know as much as I should about the pricing, but it does seem to me that your price on that B2910 is a good price for a brand new one; a little high for a used one.

that's that same thought I had, I should be able to get a NEW one for that price.


Some of the numbers dont add up, I think he thinks we are suckers so I plan on going back on Sat to talk to another salesman. There is also another dealer about 30 miles.
or just forget the whole thing til spring and build a garage.

My primary needs are kindof split , yes the primary mission would be to mow about 2-3 acres but I also have mostly wooded/steep hill/and flat (no rolling hills!) lot that I need to cut a road or too and MAYBE pull out some logs.( That or have a logger come in and do that part for me! ) maintain 600' driveway, plow snow when we do get it. landscape. firewood retrieval from where I can't get the truck.
I just think the L series is a bit big, yes I could use it
out back but it would be too big for down front on the pasture/lawn.

You can also call some dealers. I called some to get the best price on a B7500. Got the best deal from a dealer in another state about an hour away. I only visited them when I finally bought the tractor. Had to do a lot of shopping for price with other dealers to include internet dealers like Carver. Carver has good info on used tractors as well. Good luck

Thanks. And thanks to all of you who post here for all the information. I couldn't have known without this site what to look for/pay/watch out for. As for the pictures , I don't have a digicam but will try to take some 35mm and scan em.

Finally arrived...

I will have to wash it before I take pictures, couldn't wait to get it dirty.

Now to get some fuel.... I'm out....!
