Talked with my salesman, John Hinkle, @Ginops, and he quoted me $295 for a set of wheels/tires assemblies for my BX1860.

Not desiring, wishing, nor inviting yet another silly pi**ing contest about "this tire is better than tire", I am just sayin' that having a set of turfs and having a set of Ags, for me, for what I do, just makes sense. At that price, I am gonna do it.

Oh, and $90 shipping. Dunno whether that means to my door, or waived if I pick up. Will find out. Also $90 to fill the rears if I wish.

The BX is to small and to lite to do any real damage with AG tires.
Now the larger L and up series may be another story.
Use AGs and you won't need to fool with filled tires.
I have a BX1500 which is the same size same tractor as your BX1860.
I also have a heavier bigger BX23 which I leave the FEL BH and MMM on all the time.
This is a much bigger and heavier rig than your BX1860 or my BX1500.
I run AGs on the BX23 with no tire damage to my yard.
Since The BX23 don't damage the lawn the BX 1500 or 1860 with AGs sure ain't gonna faze it

For what it's worth, I think having two sets of tires at that price is great ideal.

Thanks Newbury and Will_C. My thoughts exactly. Seems like a no brainer. I received another email from John @ Ginop's. The shipping price has to be paid, either to the store or to my house. Oh well. Still, the price is right and I will likely call him in the morning and push the go button.

I actually have a need for BOTH kinds of these tires. Again, I am not inviting, encouraging, nor can I tell you how little I care about the tire vs tire blah blah blah. Sick to death of that. Not like me to say this, but I am gonna. I have been on tractors and farming and mowing for over 50 years. 'Nuff said about that. Apologies for "going there", but anyhow.......

I merely posted because I was surprised how reasonable this was, and on this forum, many posters have wondered out loud about owning two sets for their machine. I hope my post might encourage those who have pondered doing this to look into it. Anybody want to discuss the why's of doing this in a reasonable fashion, I wouldn't mind.

I wish I could get a set of turfs for my B7610 for that price!

This is exactly what I had done with my 1850. I purchased the tractor with the ags, then after mowing that first spring realized the tractor is indeed heavy enough to tear up soft turf. I paid $245 for the set of turfs/wheels and that was at my local Kubota dealer where I bought the tractor. I got around shipping by waiting a few weeks untill they had some other stuff coming from Georgia. The turfs ride better while mowing and don't leave marks. Soon I'll switch to the Ags and put the plow mount on for winter and wood hauling. I always wonder when people say that these machines aren't heavy enough to do damage if they have rock hard lawns or simply don't care about marks.

And I've wondered if it isn't just the nit pickers and fuss budgets that complaine about AG tires.

1*The seceret is keep the tractor off of soft wet turf regardless of what tires you have.
If it's soft or wet enough any tire will tear it up.
2*I see no difference in the ride.

I have Turfs on this BX1500 which is the same size tractor as your BX1850 .

I have AGs On this BX23 that is Bigger and about 1100 pounds heavier than the BX1500.

I'v done more damage to the grass with the BX1500 because the Turfs will spinout easier than the AGs will.

For some people an extra set of tires will make sense and for others it won't. Because I don't "need" a set doesn't mean you won't. I keep rethinking this myself and was interested to see this thread. I used a BX2200 with AG tires for six years and now have a BX2660 with R4 tires. My ground is pretty hard and most of the time you can't see any marks at all unless the lawn is moist. I live on a farm and will occasionally run through my lawn with an AG tractor and most of the time an Apache couldn't track the darned thing.

Even with the above, if I didn't use my FEL pretty often and year round, I would still consider an extra set just for the smoother ride. Thanks for the information.
