2nd shuttle shift failure

They got all kinda new stuff but,,shifting from forward to reverse, while moving,,just don't sound like a good idea to me?? don't have a hydro, but still, think you'd want to come to stop first.

In these machines absolutely need to come to stop prior to throwing the lever from forward to reverse or visa versa

my dozer had a hydraulic reverser which you'd throw while moving it would rdirect oil from front spinning clutch pack to reverse spinning clutch pack in a controlled manner

but my reverser / shuttle shift is all gears in my tractor which are not deigned to be thrown forward to reverse while moving

I've never even tried

Hi Deputyrpa,
In the earlier model DK45S the shuttle shift fork under heavier use could tend to bend at the ends and wear. Thus only having a problem in one direction. When they changed it the first time they may have had an older fork in stock and put it in. The newer shuttle forks are much heavier casting and we have not had any problems with the new replacement.
Make sure your dealer puts in the upgraded fork and makes the adjustments and you should be trouble free.
Good Luck

Thanks. The fork was already replaced by Wallace last year, because I had the same problem. Evidently, there is another issue with either design or parts.

I just purchased a 2006 DK45S with 456 hours on it and used it for the first time this weekend to brush hog 5 acres. Every thing seemed to work great except i kept having one problem. In third gear high (with and without pto engaged) the tractor would start to go and then jump into neutral. I am not an experienced tractor owner, this is my first one. All the other gears in all the other ranges work fine only the 3rd gear in high. Should i be concerned? Also a light on the instrument panel comes on that is a square with a two circles separated by a line. Its the light to the right of the PTO light.

Correction!! I has done it to me in other gears also. It seems like the forward on reverse shifter doesnt allow the transmission to get fully engaged in forward, in Reverse it does not do it. Id really hate to load it up and take it to the dealer because its 30 miles away. If someone thinks they know whats up, please let me know.

Well, with 460 hours on it, my DK45S is in the shop for a second shuttle shift repair. I'm fairly disappointed. I work it hard, doing loader work and pulling ground engagement implements for farming, but I would think it should hold up to these tasks. After all, it's not a lawnmower.

Fortunately, it's still under warranty, but how long will the SS fix last? Has anyone else had problems with their SS with such low hours?

While the tractor is split, I'm having them replace the clutch for the parts cost. That also was worn a bit more than I suspected. Might as well.

I purchased a new 06 DK 45 from Wallace and had two shuttle shift repairs for a total of four trips to the Kioti dealer for the 45 jumping out of gear. THe main transmission is jumping out of gear, they spoit the trans and replace a litney of parts. Wallace is no longer a Kioti dealer, shich complicates the problem.
Recently, I was doing some brushing on a steep hay field with a little morning due on the field and the main jumped out of gear. The machine took off, the brakes locked and the machine began sliding faster than I was mowing and would stop. Fortunately the field sloped off to level and I got the machine under controll. Lets face it, it could have been a bad hair day. Kioti has a problem with this model jumping out of gear and should recall all of the machines. The more I read the more I find that the problem is out there and others are having problems.

My problem is Wallace is no longer a Kioti dealer, l have fine months left on my warranty and I need the machine. My point for responding to your message is to let others know that the 45 DKS has trans problems and someone needs to address it. I thought about getting it repaired and dumping the machine, but that isn't a solution, because it is only going to happen to the next guy. I think it's time to make waves.

Good luck,
Frankie D

Has anyone experienced this failure on newer (09,10) Kioti's?

I am just wondering if the shuttle shift systems are the same on the DK35 and other Kioti models?
This seems to be a potentially dangerous problem, especially if you are mowing hills like one poster has stated...Not a good situation to be in.
Anyone hear anything from Kioti?

Here is a good example where Wallace is no longer a dealer will be interested to see what kind of action is taken by anyone if anything.
