...and the 540 PTO rpm at less than 2000 engine rpm is a biggie for me. That means the torque curve peak for that engine is about 500 rpm below the peak hp. I hate running an engine near 2500 rpm to get 540 PTO rpm. At 1967 engine rpm, the TT60A is just chuggin' along.

Rationally, it makes sense to have the bigger tractor if it works for your application. It will work much easier and last longer. The specs are much better. It could pay for the difference long term in maintenance and fuel savings if it does not work as hard. Besides, we all think you deserve the bigger tractor.

Also, shop around. When I bought my TT60A earlier this year, the difference in pricing from one dealer to the next was nearly $2,000.

I second that, you have to shop around.

I am self employed and like to buy what I need in my home town. That way I also support my clients. My New Holland dealership is only 15 minutes away. I was pricing the TC40D & TC40DA. One dealership outside of town was selling the TC40DA for less than what this guy was selling the TC40A for. I asked this guy if he could match the price and said he could not even come close. He told me to run over buy that tractor. He let me use his phone to order the TC40DA which I did. The next day he went over to this other dealer and picked up my tractor and delivered it to me at no cost to me. I Now buy all my parts and supplies form him. He could not match price, but he excels in the service department which I think is more important.

I now also have a new client!

It pays to shop around and be honest with the people you are dealing with.

man I wish New Holland would put a dealer closer to me! nearest one is 45 mins away. second nearest is about an hour away. although neither seems like a long ways off, both have to be traveled by I-95 a good majority of the way to get to each and I just don't want to have to haul a tractor on the interstate with all those "good drivers" out there.

On the tractor front I guess I am lucky to have 2 NH dealerships within 30 minutes.

On the other hand if I want to go out for a good meal I have to travel 45 minutes.

It all evens out I guess!

Well we signed the papers for the TT50A. Used the money saved to get the SQ84T Bush Hog. I have the Oliver for the bigger stuff, so just really didn't need it. Getting the rear remotes installed, and then it's delivered.
Thanks for all the replies and info.
