Does anyone have a problem with the 3 point hitch leaking down and constantly cycling up and down. MY 4220 just started doing that. It lifts ok, but then it seems to leak down then the lift will jump back up. This is only a couple of inches but it is a constant cycling that is very annoying.
Anyone know how to fix this?

My 2002d does that, not as extreme as yours but a little bit. Mine only drops a 1/2" or so before it reacts and raises. I believe the feedback rod adjustment helps determine how far it drops before reacting. Try closing your stop valve after raising lift and see if lift drops at same rate as it does in normal operation. If so, your problem might be the o-ring on the lift cylinder. If no drop at all or minimal, your problem is likely in the control valve area. Be careful not to try raising the lift with the stop valve closed. Mine is not at a point that bothers me so I've not messed with it.

I had a YM2220 that would cycle/jump every couple of seconds. Ended up being trash in the valve.

I just bought the piston O rings to repair an F20 & an FX335-D that has the same problem.
The 20 leaks down, the 335-d does the jitter bug, and it drives me crazy !

Just came up not long ago. After clean fluid and filter it still would drop but not go back up on it's own. Just had to snug up the spring tension to the valve a little. The linkage had alot of wear in it. With it moveing back up on it's own has me leaning also more to dirt in the fluid and control valve.

How hard is it to get into the O rings to replace them on the lift cylinder or repair the valve. All the books I have are in Japanese with only the diagrams that I can read.

i got the american ym240 book. It sounds a lot harder than i think it is. I watched a video on Youtube where the guy took apart a jimina or someother tractor and it seemed simple. I think the yanny will be far simplier. You take all the lines loose pull the whole top assembly of the tranny and then pull the head off the back and the bottom part that has the lock out valve with the knob thats under your seat between your legs and then you can push the cylinder out of the top i think with a wood dowel or something then replace the oring and piston and then reassemble. If i rembember i may post the pages from my 240 manual, of course i realize you dont have a 240.

Gary, you never stated whether you tested your lift cylinder by closing the stop valve after raising and watch to see if it holds. That will either eliminate the lift cylinder or condemn it. I'm assuming you have a stop valve. If not, forget everything I'm saying.

Its a simple job.;)
Just pull the top off to get to the piston, pull it out, and replace the O rings.
While you're at it, clean out all the crud that accumulates in the bottom of the casing, after you drain it.
I also use a magnet to fish around for any loose metal on the bottom.
Couple of hours and its behind you.
