I had the same problem on my B7800. Used the same process you used, except I removed the metal shroud that covered where it went into the rear end in order to gain better access. I used vise grips to grasp it and get it moving.

Yes, mine has a little wobble in it. That has never presented a problem (leaks).

I "exercise" it regularly. As a matter of fact, you post has reminded me and I am going to do it now.
Now hearing someone else has the wobble makes me much more comfortable. Ran machine today pretty good and so far no leaks. I 'm guessin' I 'm good to go. Thanks for the reply on the wobble.
