That looks real good. Definitely better touch than mass-produced commercial gear.

That looks extremely nice. That's the best looking sprayer I have seen. I have seen some good high-quality mass-produced sprayers and they don't come close to the workmanship of that one. Of course, I guess it could look nice and not work worth a crap. . .but I kinda doubt that's the case. How big is the tank?

Great job !!!!! I use one that a buddy pieced together years ago, he has since passed I have no idea how much he bought and how much he built. I have one suggestion, have you thought of adding a hand held spray wand? We have the pressure line t'd off several different ways. You can spray with one boom, both booms, either or both booms with the wand or just the wand. The hose for the wand is 20' or so long, coiled up on the rear of the tank.. you can use it from drivers seat or have some one walking behind/beside you and spray around trees, ponds .... whatever. We have even used it to put out the edges of controlled burns. I highly recommend being the one on the tractor not the guy walking LOL. I just helped a buddy burn 40 acres and I was the the youngest of the bunch
(40) so I got the hard job.

The attention to detail really shows is his workmanship. One of the best I've seen on the market.

When it quits snowing here in WI. I`ll get the camera out and post a few more detail pictures because I left some things out. I did not think there would be this much interest. Fireman has good ideas! My manifold has a port for the hand wand but it wasn`t connected in the photos I posted, and the port is on the bottom so it did not show up. My booms are capable of being controled all ways and all combinations with the sprayer control valve I bought from the farm store. I have thought about using it for burn control also. My booms can be taken off in one neat assembly if I so desire, which would narrow up the profile a bit for getting between trees when using just the wand.

I thought I would bring this thread back to the top and post an update. I ran about three tanks full through the sprayer this past saturday. Everything worked great. I used a handheld GPS unit taped to the hood of the tractor to maintain a steady 4 mph. I sprayed off about 12 acres of old hay fields in preparation for minimun till corn. A foam marker system would be nice as its easy to overlap too much or miss and leave a streak. Vegatation is now showing that it is dying off. Its been five days. Break away booms got tested at that edge of a field and worked as designed.

How much volume did you spray to do 12 acres?

180 gallons. Tank holds 65. I used Glysophate (41%) 1gt (32oz) to the acre with some crop oil (surfactant/adjuvant). My sprayer tips put out @ 40psi /15 gal to the acre. 1 gallon of concentrate to 60 gallons of water gave me the correct rate. The sprayer tips that are available off the shelf at the farm stores have an easy to figure out chart include that give the flow rates @ various pressure settings and MPH. There are lots of tips available to tailer your sprayer for your individual usage.

7864, you really ought to figure out how much labor you have invested in this sprayer. I would be willing to bet that you could make a pretty good living selling quality implements if you ever decided to go in that direction.

Congratulations on doing some fine work.
