Awesome chrise. I didnt even notice until you said so. While doing some maintenance, I had the tractor up on the lift and I found that it is the lower part of the ROPS mount. I also noticed my back bolts were loose. That explains the excess vibration. Here is my bent one...I will probably let it go for now. 20181023_191039.jpeg20181023_191050.jpeg20180705_163957.jpeg

That's quite a setup you got there Tiptoo - mine is a lot rustier but still runs quite well. Cost of parts remains low IMO. Maybe because I also have an Audi A6 which is quite the opposite.

How do you like the tractor? How has it held up? Looking hard at the rural king tractors, and i know they are tym.
Just wondering,

Thanks

Wasn't sure if you were asking me or chrise ... I love mine. T234 was $14200 for a 2017 model with rear remotes, purchased in spring of 2018. I really considered rural king....but their 24hp comparable model seemed like smaller and less of a tractor. The TYM T234 is on a 30hp T293 frame. Obama regulations on emissions just knocked the hp down, but same engine....same tractor size as the T293....so bigger bucket and more capable than Rural King's RK24. The joystick on the RK24 was loader mounted on a chintzy plate. I prefer it intergrated in by the seat like the T234 has. The T234 also has skid steer style quick attach loader bucket. Rural King doesnt have quick attach standard until you get in the RK37 or above.

If you are after the backhoe on a compact tractor, the smaller RK with hoe would come in cheaper in total price....but again it would be a smaller tractor. The T234 or T293 hoe runs $7000 by itself but comes with a full subframe.

I was 100% sure I too was going to be purchasing a RK tractor....but now, if I could, I would be a TYM dealer, cause I like it so much.

Like tiptoo, I like it a lot. It held up ok over 10-12 years - bucket is great. We had a Mahindra before.and I found the brush hog BB48 wouldn't lift up when not in use as high with the TYM as it did with the Mahindra. Could be me not messing with it enough. The problem I had all along was not being close to a TYM dealer who does repairs and maintenance. It got old trailering it up to NH or Southern Maine (we're on the north shore of Boston) when needed. Now I use a local mechanic and hope he can handle it.

Thanks for both replies. I have a bx1800 now, bought it new.
Just getting the itch for something newer, a little bigger, with a front end leader. Been looking hard at rk24, just their lack of a real service department scares me. They very well may get it together by the time i pull the trigger, we'll see.
Also been looking at the bx2380, but probably leaning towards the mf1705. That's a very nice little sub-compact. And it's priced about the same as the rk24.
Plus, the mf dealership is about 7 miles from the house.
