I started a thread on this in the general forums but didn't get much response, so I'll share it with fellow JD owners here.
For those with quick tach forks for FEL's, this may be something handy for moving palletized materials around yard/barn/shop. provided you don't have to raise pallets over 18 inches, this is a very quick way to move pallets, very easy to see and engage (unlike loader mounted) steadier lifting and no leveling.
I really didn't give this much thought or engineering, so I'm sure some one could come up with a better/easier way, but this ain't to bad just the way it is, at first I thought just an alternative to a carry all but now I think this might have a higher capacity than when mounted on a loader?
I got the idea from seeing Kubota with rear forks on a construction site. My forks are from Horst MFG. $20.00 in material, 1-1/2" and 1-1/4" solid bar, misc steel pcs, and welding rods, about 4 hours work.

I LIKE THE IDEA. Great work. Makes me want to get some real forks for my "Little John". Sometimes things don't have to be lifted to max height, rather, just get the item around the property.
Thanks for posting, great idea.

The finished product looks great. In my 790 thread we were talking about the beefed up bulk head on my new Horst pallet forks. After studying the photos I noticed on my forks the attachment hook is welded to the beefed up bulk head and so the top attachment pin is also welded higher on the forks. Your hook and pin are welded on lower. My forks also have the lower pin. Probably because your loader is a 300cx and mine is a 300.

Thats a great job there. I reciently palletizes a lot of firewood, and found the loader struggled to life the pallets with the forks in the FEL. Not mention the loss of weight for traction.
So i welded up a bracket much like the quick hitch, and I can now put the forks on the rear. what a difference. as you said height limits but thats fine in my application.
Also the hyd upper link sure helps angle the forks

Looks good, I made my forks and wanted to add the 3pt hitch capability also.
Another item I need is a 3pt trailer ball hitch setup for my I match , then a bigger garage to house all the implements out of the nasty weather!!

I have so many projects to do when I retire.... A gentleman I worked for always complained that in your twentys you have , strength, ideas and no money or time. Then the golden years come you have no money , no strength and to much time. , I better get back to work ......before I fire myself.

Thanks Everyone, dirt ditch, I think the reason for the new style fork attachment is because it will probably fit on a larger loader using the lower pin. I don't think there is a difference between the 300 and 300cx probably even the 200 series have the same carrier, the larger loader (400 maybe) must have a larger/longer carrier, that way the mfger only has to make one model for many loaders. That's my best guess.
Hey JC, I'll see you over on the Ford side, I'm sure I'll have more questions on the 1700 since I should get that PTO genny I've been talking about tomorrow, and will be putting it to the test.

I saw one of these photos in another thread and thought this was such a good idea! I cannot believe no manufactures have incorporated something similar into their forks to give them that one up over the competition. Well Done!

Definitely easier to pick a pallet off the ground with the 3 pt mount compared to loader mounted, due to limited view.

As long as you don't need to raise them up high.
