John Deere 770
I have a 1980s JD 770. The 3 point hitch rubs the tires and sway link turn buckles break if tightened enough to keep 5 foot bush-hog from rubbing tires. Is there a 'telescoping' sway link assembly available somewhere for my small tractor, like the one on Deere larger tractors, sliding metal bars with pins?
Thank you for any suggestions.

Thanks, but I have been searching the internet. It looks like there are no after market products that will fit the JD 770. I guess that's why the dealership couldn't help.
It's a terrible problem. The turn buckles are pot metal and break under pressure. I'm going to contact Deere directly and see if I get a response. Thanks again.

Are you using a quick hitch? I think you might be able to get away with having your sway links tighter. I had the same problem with my 2520 and the ultimate solution turned out to be replacing the draft arms with a newer design that had a "dogleg" built into it to get the required clearance.

Yes, I do have a quick hitch. I had hoped it would fix the problem, it has helped a little, but I am concerned about tightening the sway links any more than I have. They break so easily!
What is the dog leg you refer to? I have researched online and cannot find a replacement for the arms on a 3 point hitch that will fit my 770.
Thanks for trying to help!

Here is a comparison of the old (on the ground) and new (on the tractor) style of draft arms used on the 2520.
