XJ2025H
So I've gotten really good at breaking things on my XJ2025H. My yard has a marshy area until it dries up in the summer heat. The grass gets really tall until then, and hides things to run into. This time I started to get stuck in the mud, so I raised the mower deck to help back out. I think I held it too long in the raise position, so now it won't lower. I can hear the whine when I briefly put it in the lift position, but it won't lower even with the tractor shut off. Is there a bleed valve or easy access to the 3 point internals? I can always pull the 2 cotter pins to lower the deck, but I wouldn't be able to raise it up if I needed it.

On most tractors there is a drop rate adjustment knob that is usually located on the panel below the seat. Possibly try opening it a little to see if 3 point will lower.

On my Workmaster 40 here's a hydraulic control lever under the seat. It actuates the rear hydro connections. If it is accidentally moved either direction it will not let the 3-point hitch operate. It has to be in the neutral position, then the 3 point hitch will work. The location of this lever under the seat makes it easy to accidentally hit.

The Kubota B7200 I picked up years ago was a Florida transport, and had set out most of it's life.
The first few months I had it, the lift would frequently stick up even with a pretty heavily loaded implement.
I got good at jumping on the little box blade while holding the lever to lower.
Finally it stuck up so tight I couldn't get it to lower "by the usual methods", so I took it all apart.

The hydraulic lift cylinder (single acting) inside the transmission cover was all rusty at the extreme end of it's throw.
A Ball hone took care of that! Been working just fine now for five years or so. I do "exercise" the lift frequently to spread some lube up there, I also make it a point to leave the lift in the full up position when parked. (It's parked in a shed now however)

I discovered if the hydraulic lever that is not detented, or the lever that does not return to neutral after pressure peaks, is pushed unknowingly the three point is dead till the lever is returned physically to neutral....

The flow/drop control adjustment know when turned all the way toward the slow effectively kills 3 point function also.

Well, I learned something from you folks. Now I know what that little knob that has a picture of a turtle and bunny is for! I did have it in the full turtle position, and once I gave it some bunny, the hitch dropped just fine. I guess when I was trying to get unstuck from the mud, I turned that knob instead of stomping on the diff lock pedal. Thanks again all! (y)

If your tractor has draft control, that being on can also slow movement of the 3Ph. But yeah, that turtle can cause problems sometimes too. ;)

These subcompacts don't have draft control. When a hitch won't lower, it's usually the drop speed knob screwed all the way in, and if the hitch won't raise, usually a remote lever with detent is not in neutral.

Yeah, if it's in the same place as on my MT235he, directly below the seat then it's a pain sometimes as my big feet will turn the knob and shut it down and it takes a few minutes to figure it out.
You would think it being a round knob and centered below the seat that it would be out of the way, nope. I wish it was up toward the seat more and that would be great.
