First lets start with some grammar/typing skills. Because honestly I am having a VERY hard time trying to understand. And CAPS LOC MEANS YOU ARE YELLING. And a few periods here and there so its not one huge run-on sentence, as well as all the abbreviations make it VERY difficult to understand.

THAT said, what I think you are trying to say is that with an implement hooked up, it will lower all by itself when the tractor is off??? Is that correct?

If so, how long does it take for the implement to FULLY lower on its own? Because there are two possible culprits, the lift cylinder and the valve. And usually anything OVER a few hours to completely bleed off is considered acceptable.

YES THE IMPLEMENT LEAKS DOWN AS SOON AS YOU TURN THE ENGINE OFF I'M ALSO ASKING THERE LOOKS TO BE AN ADJUSTMENT OF SOME KIND ON THE RIGHT SIDE TOWARD THE BACK UNDER THE SEAT IS THIS A POSSIBLE ADJUSTMENT ??? OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE TO LOOK FOR ITS JUST STARTED THIS WITHIN THE PAST MONTH EMAIL ralph.dennis@hotmail:confused:

I'm not overly familiar with that particular model of Ford, but I THINK the "adjustment" you're looking at is EITHER the load/draft control function, OR a speed control on the hydraulics..(ie "draft response", ect, ) ..Probably has nothing to do with your "problem".

I'm leaning towards a lift cylinder that's beginning to leak a bit. That's a fairly common occurance on older tractors. If the lift is staying up while running, I wouldn't even worry about a little down drift. It's not a real good idea to leave implements raised when the tractor isn't in use anyway....

If it's drifting down while running, you'll need to diagnose the problem on site. There are a dozen possibles in that case.

Hi,
I know this is an old thread and I promise to do my best with spelling and not all caps. That said, I posted a question a week ago with the same basic issues. Finding this thread made me think about reposting my situation here and see if anything comes up... That said, here goes...
Hey,
I have a 84 Ford 1710 and recently have been having issues with the three point settling once the tractor is shut down. Seems to be specific to the three point as the loader stays up just fine. I have also noticed that there is a distinctive pulsing in the hyd system and I can see the hose leading to the rear "jumpin" with the pulsing. Am I correct to assume the "o" rings are failing on the valve located under the front of the seat , Flow control valve?
If so, What is the correct procedure for replacement?
If not, Where should I look next?
Any help would be great!

Had the same problem in my JD. Tried to fix it myself and failed. Gave up and let the dealer come and get it. three days and about $800 later good as new.
Hope you have better luck.

Not specific to that tractor, but I have had a problem like that that came and went. Perhaps something caught in the 3pt valve or seal for awhile. Is your hyd fluid in good shape?

/ 3 POINT LIFT QUESTION #11
Yeah,
Fluid looks to be in good order and up in the middle of the stick. I have ordered the o-rings and gasket for the Flow control valve as I read a vague posting about that. Waiting their arrival... Looks like I should be able to remove the control valve directly for access and replacement rather than removing the seat and top portion above the axle (sorry don't have the correct names) Any comments about replacing the o-rings?
Thinking about changing the filter as well. Anyone know if there will be a lot of fluid loss when doing this?
Thanks for the replies!
