Quick Hitches 3-POINT QUICK HITCH

Seems like the guys that have the Pats are very loyal and satisfied customers but IMO even if you have to mod your implements to work with the QH it is easier/better not having to get out of the seat at all (for non pto implements anyway).

I bit the bullet and got the Delta Hook quick hitch. Paid a bit for a lifetime of convenience and it fits everything. Hook and unhook from the seat in less than 30 seconds. Works every time. After using it for several months I would never ever be without a Delta Hook.

I must have got the wider one, cause it doesn't fit my (York) Modern Implements 5' york rake, so I haven't been able to use it...I should try to see if HF has the narrower one, but I figure I can also swap out the lift arm pins and buy some adjustable ones for about $5 at Tractor Supply, I'm only 1 or 2 inches short...anyone else try this?

If the rake was all that did not fit, then I would modify the rake so that it did and let it go at that. When you extend a pin and grab it only by the end you are going to cause a lot of stress on the pin mounting attachment.

>>Or just get Pat's Easy Change that will fit with Any Width of your Attachments.<<

Checked them out on their website, and they look pretty good. So, I ordered one from this site and am looking forward to receiving it. I'm getting too old to fight with the conventional 3 PTH set-up!

Tnx,

RUT

I noticed a rubber strap going between some of your hitch pins on your 3-point, do you have problems with the pins falling our? Or is it just a convenient place to keep a strap?
The rubber strap keeps the lifting arms from flopping around when there is no implement attached. It hooks both of them together and pulls them toward the center. No need for it now since I have the QH.

This non-standard hitch thing drives me nuts! Is there supposed to be a standard or not?

I bought a quick hitch at a Ritchie Brothers auction (dirt cheap) that doesn't fit anything I own! I seriously considered that they might have been manufactured wrong or something! Since my snowblower and Harley rock rake are exactly the same, I might just cut the tubing and weld in a piece to fit.

I saw Pats claws at the farm show in Kentucky. Almost bought them, but hate buying things at first sight, without having done research. Plus, they ARE pricy! AND, you still have to struggle with the third point anyway!

Compared to my skid steer attachment implements with a hydraulic coupler, three point hitches are a royal pain and seriously detract from the convenience that a tractor can afford with multiple implements!

Well. I put my quick hitch to the saw! Cut it to pieces! My friends in the steel business had some tubing that EXACTLY fit over the existing horizontal tubing. I took some measurements and made it fit my Snow Blower, Harley Pro 8 Rake and a Ditch Bank (Hammer) mower.

And it is SLICK! Albeit the original unit is quite poorly and weakly made! No more hammering out pins under load for this guy!

The thing I particularly don't like is poor visability to the hooks on either side! Vision is totally obscured. I would have built the thing different from the ground up.

Also, I was using my heavy dump trailer and found the quick hitch can get in the way of sharp turns. I have bent one of the hooks (again poor, light duty materials) catching it on the tongue of my trailer. Not only that, but I have to have my hitch down on my JD 6200 because I need every last bit of oil to run a fairly large three stage hoist in my dump wagon. I MUST always remember to raise the hitch again afterwards!

If I had time (which I don't) I would definitely design my own three point (not two) quick hitch. Oh, I also installed a hydraulic top link which seems to allow me much better control and height with my Harley Rake!

Bought a Speeco Quick Hitch. Altered most of my implements. It is really handy to change from one to another. I use the adapter instead of the hook. It's a great addition to a tractor.
