Great job, Stumpman

I was proud of mine, till I saw yours. Now I don't like mine as much.

( Stump ... rather than make any stupid guesses, I'm wondering why you incorporated threaded bolts for the control arm connections?

Couldn't a pair of pins on each side do the job? Seems it would have a disconnect time of about 15 seconds that way with no tools required?

Not a critique, just curious.

What you are seeing is the threaded part of the pin... they are standard CAT 1 pins holding it to the tractor. You will have to look closely at the picture, but you can see the snap ring pin holding it onto the arm in picture 2 on the left side... Many times pictures are posted in a way that we can't see all sides of the item and this is one of those times.... difficult to see the disconnect pins.. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Great Job stumpman, I have been pricing a rig like that on the web for my tractor and they run about $200. You did a really nice job, and for $30, you can't beat it.

Don't suppose you want to build another......

Junkman,
You are right, they are standard CAT1 pins with ring clips. I would make more and sell them if I could find more hitches for $10. This one was from an Expedition, it's hard to find them wide enough and they cost $$$$ to buy them new. Ask me how I know.... I had just bought one and had it installed on my Expedition the week before I found this one for $10 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

check out the auto flea markets this summer.... I see them all the time for $10 - $15 when the seller doesn't know what they are from....

That's where I got this one, the guy had no idea what it was for. It's just hard to find one that is big enough, there are lots of them for smaller cars/trucks but not many large ones.
