3-Point Hitch 3-Point Tree Sprayer

The dreaded Winter Moth has arrived in my neck of the woods and is threatening to do its defoliating dirtywork on our flowering trees during the next several months. There are a couple of insecticides now available with which to beat the critters down. I'd like to purchase a sprayer, most likely a 3-Point, to treat my trees with. Any advice would be much appreciated.

TSC has small tanks with 12v pumps that you could mount onto a KK carryall (TSC has). Think you'd only want about 20-50 gallons back there.

With a 4410, I wouldn't think you would be happy with anything smaller than a 50/55 gallon unit. How much land and how many trees do you need to spray? How tall are they?

I bought a 25 gallon 3PH unit with a five-roller roller pump, 10-foot turf boom and tree gun. To spray fairly tall trees you need pretty high pressure and a good gun. I added a TeeJet GunJet to my setup and it can spray up to about 35 feet at 100 PSI. Here's a link to their PDF spec sheet TeeJet GunJet Spec PDF

You can buy most any tank sprayer and upgrade your guns, valves, and nozzles pretty inexpensively if you need to. If you are so inclined, it's not that big of an issue to build your own if you can get a cheap tank and frame. I have purchased sprayer parts, nozzles, gun orifice plates, etc. from both Accuspray.com and Ritenhouse Sprayers. Rittenhouse is in Canada if that makes any difference to you. They were just as fast and reliable as Accuspray.
