3 Point Woods Dual Forklift

   / 3 Point Woods Dual Forklift #11
I can see some good uses for the three point lifts over the loader forks - mostly for heavy loads and/or over rough ground. They may work pretty good for unloading off the side or back of a semi-trailer or for feed, seed, sod and such....or if your loader don't have the grunt to get it done.

If I needed em....I could see paying up to $1000 for a good used set up. If they got too cheap....someone is going to use that cylinder and frame for a log-splitter.

Well ended up buying this forklift. Had to pay close to the upper end of what I wanted but it is in great shape and about 1/3 the cost of a new one. I should get it off the truck later today, thankfully I have a loader and a chain!

That's a really nice looking set-up. Just be real careful with any heavy loads up high. I think I'd limit myself to paved surfaces for that sort of work.

Thanks for the thoughts! I never carry heavy loads up high, always as low as possible.

Or you can make your own from a scrap mast as i did.

rated for
1100 pounds at 9ft lift
or
3300 pounds at max 3ft lift

Works a charm. You'll need a valve for a single action piston.

The height is not a problem if you make the base of the mast frame wide enough and NEVER lift anything high with the mast lifted of ground by the 3pt.

Driving with a pallet 1ft in the air is stable on paved roads.
I marked my barn floor so i know where to lower the mast and then lift the pallet all the way up with the mast and FEL bucket on the ground.

As an extra I re-made my 3pt hitch so it accepts the forks for quick ground level moving of pallets and pallet boxes with firewood.
