3 point

My 3 point is slowly falling to the ground on my JD 4300. If I lift the lever up it goes back up and then the cycle continues. Takes about 1 minute to fall all the way down. The fluids are fine and I have no leaks. Any thoughts?

Have you tried closing the drop rate valve some?

It has been steady for a while. I didn't think to adjust the drop rate. I guess I need to find out where that is.

Are you saying the lever is falling down?

The lever falls down a little bit then stops. The three point will fall all the way down if I don't hold the lever all the way up

The Drop Rate valve only sets the speed of drop when the lift lever is activated toward the lower position. I took your first post to indicate the 3pt drops without moving the 3pt lever to the "lower" position. If I misunderstood I'm sorry.

If this is a steadily worse problem it's likely your 3pt lift cylinder leaking. It is located inside the trans/rear axle housing, under the seat. Reguires a pretty serious teardown to access it. Rebuilding the cylinder itself is very easy.

Not sure how mechanical you are?? So can't offer a suggestion as to whether to try it yourself or hire it done. The parts are cheap. The labor will be a bit pricey.

Does your tractor have position control 3pt???

If so, and the lever falls down on it's own to cause the 3pt drift, forget everything I've said to this point......

I guess I'll step out and wait for more information and clarity. Sorry for the confusion.
