While I would not go as far as Bob and not recommend any tractor that had a limited 3PH, I would certainly want to advise anyone that was considering a tractor that had a limited 3PH, that that was the case and that it could make using some standard implements inconvient or even almost impossible.

Henro. . . I'm not bashful about it at all, and what I have seen and learned over the past decade of playing with tractors is that many people are just like me. They move to the cournty and have NO CLUE what to do. Someone tells them their tractor is the best thing since sliced bread and they accept that as fact. Then they go to buy an implement and it does not fit!!!

I've never pretended to be smart or to be a farmer or someone who grew up with tractors, I sell candy to kids and cigarettes to people addicted to nicotine, that does not take a lot of brain power!!! But I learn from my mistakes and the mistakes my neighbors make. Sometimes the best tool is the cheapest one. Sometimes it is the biggest one. Sometimes the smallest one. And sometimes you need one tool to do a lot of jobs. That tool is a tractor. For my brother, the guy who grew up and couldn't master the use of duck tape, I would recommend he hire a lawn care company. For most people who are looking at buying their FIRST serious tractor, I'm willing to bet that they don't know the difference between a limited Cat 1 and a Cat 1 or a Cat 2 or a Cat 3 hitch. Consequently, I think that they might find themselves at some point in the future needing to needlessly upgrade because they made an illinformed choice.

You and I are lucky. We get to play with different size toys and our wives don't kick us out when we show up with something newer, bigger, better or just more fun.

"Most of the complaints about the limitations of the BX and other subcuts seem to come from people that do not own them. "

Maybe that is why they did not buy them. Never buy anything that will not fit your needs. A sub-CUT is fine for some users but not for others needs.

I got my 2210 about a month ago and have 65 hours on it. Most of the hours are with fel and box scraper. While I was looking at tractors mine was parked right next to a 4110. The three point actually lifted higher on my 2210. So far no regrets with the purchase. I had to dig a 3' deep by 30 x 30 area to for a water collection area to drain to. The stuff was clay mixed with fill like concrete and ashphalt chucks. The bucked and tooth bar made a great combo to get through the stuff.

You have that backwards. I've compared both side by side on a dealer's lot, and the NH is quite a bit smoother and quieter than the Kubota.

Are you sure about this statement? unless you modified your 2210, I dont see this as factual....the 4110 is a full CAT 1
and has a considerable height advantage over the 2210...

Opinions will vary, in my experience, the NH is smoother when at idle, the Kubota is smoother once you bring the throttle above about 25%.

ducati996, all I can tell you is call D&H Equipment in Holt Michigan and ask for Bill, he is the salesman that was there with me when we compared the two. The links on the lower arms were over 2 inches higher than the 4110 sitting right next to it. He was surprised also. This was done with no attachments on either tractor. And no I have done no modification. My tractor was sitting next to this one for sale on the lot.

The 2210's 3point dimensions between the pins and toplink height are true cat1. The only limitation is the lift height. This can be an issue with a long implement requiring the toplink to be left longer - for example, a bushhog - or for PHD where you need a higher lift just to use the equipment.

I have used a bushhog and backblade on my 2210 with no problems whatsoever with the limited height. You just don't have as much lift height. With appropriate ballast and a 3pt receiver I also use it to move my 6200lb travel trailer which has a tongue weight of 600+ lbs.

I have to jump in on this. There is no such thing as a limited cat 1 3 point hitch. ASAE has specs that call out pin size and width for lower arms and hole size for top link. If you buy a sub or even a small compact you should accept that all implements will not work. For example a Kubota B7500 would not work well with a 7 foot brush hog, does this mean that the 7500 also has a limited cat one hitch? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

maybe they should rename it

Cat 1, with limited lift

?????

the good thing is, a lot of TPH implement manufacturers recognize this, and are building implements to fit these shorter tractors. Post Hole diggers are now offered, as well as other implements that will work with these subs.
