3 pt VS pull type box blade?

I have used a 3pt box blade quite a bit. I bought a bigger tractor and went down to get a 10' box blade and the dealer had two types, a normal 3 pt, and a pull type with two wheels on the back and a hyd cylinder to adjust depth. I had ever seen anything like this but he assured me that you got much better results with it. Just curious if anyone has experience with these pull units.

YES.... Get IT! My B-in-Law and I share one (10' wide) and it is SO MUCH better than the 3pt. I can spread lots faster not just because it is wider, but it less "touchy". Ever get one of those wave things going in your driveway that turns into a rub board type surface if you aren't careful? Hardly happens w/ the pull type BB. Something about getting the thing away from the tractor and on its own wheels kind of lets it do its own thing and stay flat and level. Not as much adjustment w/ angle like the 3pt model, but I like the pull type much better for my 1/4 mile driveway. We did put a 14" wheel on one side and a 15" wheel on the other to let us "crown" the driveway a bit. Seems to help a lot w/ drainage and potholes.

Thanks for the reply. I can see where it would work better on a long driveway or road. Do you have any problems with manueverability with it? I have about 1/4 mile of road and then several areas around the the house, barn, etc that I need to smooth out on a regular basis.

Well, being 10' wide it is not designed for tight places. However, I have used it in the yard (unfenced) to spread fill dirt but I have to have large areas at the end of each run to turn around.
