Again thank you I've learned a lot about pumps - I am a newby yet and am trying to learn.
Over the past day I'm changing my thoughts on the use of the pump. Initially I thought I could pump up from the river into the dugout - this is proving to be difficult and most likely will cause more contamination than good.
I think I will need to truck some water in and set up a cistern. The use that I would have for the pump is to assist in the off loading the water from a tank on a trailer. Gravity will certainly work.
I should though have some pumps around for the spring. Maybe the best is a typical honda 2" pump although I still so impressed with the tractors PTO and 3 PTH. What a great invention. I can eliminate having dozens of motors to service and having one primary motor that has many more HP than the small engines.
Anyway the pump that dyanism suggested is a good ideal. Is there a similar 2" pump?
Our multifunctional stores like Nothern (Princess Auto or Flaman's) do not deal with sprayer pumps - is this normally with the main line dealers?
