Well i have 3 signs that fall is here, 1) i serviced and cleaned the RFM Friday and stored it for winter. 2) i had to run the frunace this morning for the 1st time 3) i have a cold.
6) The trees are 1000 different colors and NONE of the leaves are <font color="red"> G </font> <font color="purple"> R </font> <font color="orange"> E </font> <font color="#666666"> E </font> <font color="brown"> N </font>
that is a strange thing up here this fall. leaves started turning early, but then slowed down, still have a lot of green leaves but a lot of color also. does seem to be skimppy on the reds this year.
8). I've already been cutting firewood.
9). Seeing lots of Timber rattlers and Copperheads moving towards rocky cliffs for the winter.
9). My Brittany's are getting excited on these cold mornings.
10) Frantically trying to wrap up my summer project list.
11) Pumpkins and mums have replaced begonias on the porch.
12) Candle lights in the windows are back in use.

I've noticed that my grass is NOT ready to cut again, since I cut it last.. which it normally would be in a couple weeks. Guess I'l get only another 1 or 2 uses out of the mower this year.... I was kinda looking forward to mowing a bit more!
13. Using the lawn mower to mulch leaves instead of cut grass.
14. Last of the tomatoes are still green but have turned to mush from being hit by frost.
15. Cat won't stay outside any more.
Frank I was at Bristol Mt ski center yesterday and I said the same thing to my wife. The leaves are awfully green still. We had the warm spell for 2 weeks and everything is slow unfolding. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Bow season opens this week and the hunters haven't seen anything yet from the deer as far as scrapes or sign....... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Almost afraid to see what the winter will hold for us here. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Don't rub it in -- up here in Maryland, I've had to continue to cut each week. I'm hoping maybe 4 or 5 more cuts before I'm done for the year.
I haven't mowed here in Northern Indiana for almost 4 weeks, now. The only place it needs mowing is in shady spots that the sun no longer hits this time of year. The frost doesn't get melted there until late in the morning and the grass is still damp there around 6:00PM.
BOB KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! Took the bride to a craft store today and one section of road was just beautiful, had lots of SUMMACK and it was red as can be. i know Bow season opens this friday, and as i can no longer hunt i do get out with the camera. have seen nothing yet. too many leaves.
GARY : i showed this post to the wife! she told me to take hot tea , 2 asprins, and get a new box of tissues /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
