Hello,

I have old 300-Gal Boom Sprayer and it does need some works. I have been thinking of selling it and was wondering what you are willing to pay for old used one??

It needs some works but nothing I cant fix because the steel frame that support the sprayer is bent. All I have to do is blowtorch it to straight it up and then replace two old tires with used tires and it will be good to go. I am planning to sell it cheap since you will need to buy new hypro pump and regulator as well as hoses and jet sprayer. In my opinion, I think you as a buyer would want to shop for better rate on items that needs to be added rather than me to buy it and mark up toward the trailer.

I am located in Eastern NC and will glad to drive reasonable distance to make a sale.

Pics will be posted soon!! Just curious if people are buying in this poor economic time, that's all. I will consider trade few things like disc plow or seeder of 5 feet width.

OK, I am at a loss trying to figure out what you want. Are you trying to sell the sprayer in a TBN forum? If so, this is not the place. If you are trying to have me help determine a selling price, then I need more information and best to have pictures. So far your post sounds like a scam.

Radman,

I really don't care if you think it is a scam or not. If you think it is then you need not to bother with this thread. I bought a 55-Gal boom sprayer for $60 and all I had to do was replace regulator, hoses, jets, and buy a new pump. This same seller gave me his price for the 300-Gal and I am thinking of buying it to resell it. And if I do resell it, my price will still be very cheap than what you can buy it for brand-new or as used one at the auction.

You can see my old thread of the 55-Gal boom sprayer and in one of the picture, 300-Gal boom sprayer is behind the 55-Gal. Thread Here.

Thanks for clarifying the situation. Can't see the other sprayer well in the link pictures. It is impossible for me to give any assistance on $$ without more info and particularly pictures. What kind of tank (steel, stainless steel, plastic, fiberglass etc), length of booms, are booms foldable, breakaway booms, does it need new nozzles etc.

At my uncles auction a few years ago, he sold a 500 gal sprayer with stainless steel tank, 40' foldable, breakaway booms, good nozzles and hoses but no pump, pressure gauge, flow control or filters on the sprayer. Tires were heavy duty, very good heavy frame and stored inside. Brought $500. I thought that was a very good deal.
I bought a 3 pt 300 gal sprayer several years ago with plastic tank and 20 foot arms for $150. Tank and hoses were good but needed a few new nozzles, pump etc. Sold it on auction few years later with out pump for same price but had some newer nozzles. IMO, a 3 pt is worth more than pull type in these smaller sprayers. 3pt is more convenient, easier to handle, easy to make adjustments from the tractor, don't bounce around like pull type etc.

IMO, if the tank is poor, then it is not worth much. If someone has to add or replace a lot of parts, then it is not worth much. Steel tank is worthless on these older spayers. Base frame and boom arms maybe worth $50.

Radman1,
Thank very much for enlighting me.. I will go back and observe some more. I think the tank is either plastic or fiberglass, but it appeared to be in good shape. Probably need to flush out before using it. Up to this point, I would say it needs:

1) Replace both tires
2) Blowtorch the frame that is supporting the sprayer when you fold up the sprayer. It's bent a little bit but it will be off when you fold up the sprayer.
3) Hinge and spring for the sprayer
4) Hose and nozzler
5) pump
6) maybe a regulator.

I can do 1-3 no problem and I would leave #4-6 to buyer because he might have his own preference of what he wants to buy/use. Or he could already have a sprayer tank that is bad and just need a replacement. I was thinking of same range $500 or maybe even $350. The money I will use to buy electrical supplies for my campground. That's my plan.

Pricing on impliments and attachments seems to vary allot by location. It might be labor or shipping costs, but there are areas of the country where I see stuff for sale that is just downright cheap. Of course, there are other areas that scare me with what people have stuff advertised for.

When I sell something, I see what others are asking for it and then I list it just a little less. The reason I'm selling is to get rid of it, not to make a living off of it. If you are doing this for income and don't care when it sells, adjust your price as you see fit.

When I buy used, I already know what it goes for new. I'd rather have new, but for the right price, will deal with older and worn out. I don't believe there is such a thing as a used anything in perfect condition. I find it hard enough to find new in perfect condition!!!! The price needs to be low enough to make me feel that the headaches I know are coming with it are worth it.

I offered a guy $250 for a 300 gallon sprayer that needed some work. He was asking $1,000 and told me that he could get $250 for the tank, or the pump, or the trailer, or boom assmebly. I though he was full of it because he was thinking that somebody would pay new prices for each of his used parts. That was six months ago, and I was told that it's still for sale, but haven't been in that area since then.

Good luck
Eddie
