Can someone tell me why john deere puts a single function valve on their loaders for the 3-4000 series cut's?
I have looked at both extensively and want to buy one. I have demo'd 2 machines and like everything about them except the loader valve!!!
Why can't I lift and curl or lift and dump at the same time?
All kubotas and other bobcat machines I have run will do 2 functions at the same time.
I am told that I need a regenerative loader valve?????Can anyone solve this dissapointing issue?
How is it that john deere has been building tractors forever, but they won't let the loader on these cut's do 2 things at once????

Please help with suggestions
Thanks. Paul

That doesn't make sense. What tractor/loader models specifically are you looking at? They should have dual-scv valves with regen on them. I can't imagine anyone would buy one without it.

What I want to know is where was your salesman? Both the 3000 and 4000 series tractor and loader WILL dump or curl at the same time wile raising or lowering. They both have a selectable features where you can select to be in regenerative position or not or locked out all together. It's the little three position lever under the joystick valve. This is why the salesman should always be at the demo. If he was and didn't have an answer I pity them. Ok I'm done now. Sorry.

I agree with everything that's been said. JD does indeed use 4-way valve with the curl circuit having regen.

There is a little, black metal piece of iron under the control valve on the cab models) that the operator can move to limit the function of the loader control valve. I suspect it is in the wrong postion.

I have been to 2 large different jd dealers in va. Both dealers tell me and show me that the loaders on the 3000 and 4000 series cab tractors will only do one function at a time. If I have the rpms at pto speed, and if I just get the joystick in the sweet spot between lift and dump, or lower and curl, the machine will respond, but the hydraulics are slowed down to almost a crawl. This has happened on all tractors in this line I have started at the dealerships and the 2 3720;s I have demo'ed.
I would be extatic if there is a way to do both functions at once. Maybe my salesmen are idiots!!!
Can you tell me about this lockout or loader switch that can be switched or adjusted under the joystick??Where is it? What does it look like?
What position does it need to be in to allow for both functions?

It looks like a little "L" lever. The "L" is facing down and it should be close to your right knee when you are sitting in the seat. If memory serves me correctly it should be all the way back to be in regenerative position. There is a decal on the side cowl that tells you where to put it. you can watch the cab video on Deere's web site and it shows the loader being used for more than one function at once.

I thought that the piece you are describing is the lockout lever for the loader.
I hope I am wrong, but I can't believe both dealers and many salesmen later don;t know about this adjustment you are talking about.

I did watch the jd video. It is hard to tell how fast the loader moves in two ways at the same time. Raise and dump, or lower and curl.

I even called john deere cust service and tech support about this matter. They even told me that the loader will only do one function at a time?!?!

I hate to be such a pain, but is there more tan one setting for this L bracket by the joystick. What does each setting do? Is there any specifics I can download to show me this before I take the plunge and spend approx 34000 dollars for a loader I don't like.

Kubota has arrow signs on all loader sticks i've used. Twleve oclock for down.Six for up.THree for dump and nine for curl. BUt than you can pull the joystick to4:30 for raise and dump. 10:30 for lower and curl. ETC.

I will have to visit my dealers again. I even went into their extensive shop area and discussed this matter with an experienced line tech. He told me that the loader would only do one thing at a time w/out slowing the hydraulics down to a crawl.
Any other thoughts or literature would be appreciated.

Sounds like something is wrong and a configuration issue is what it seems like. My 3520 doe both and it is not slow as I have inadertently dumped some material by fooling around while lifting it. The loader worked the same on both my former 4310 and the current 3520.
