Yep that's correct, forward is down, back is up. To the right is curl down, left is curl up. Nope this is after I have dumped, and have curled the backet, (or grapple, or forks, or what ever I'm using) back to straight. Then set the attachment on the ground. It's completely floppy, like the video shows. My problem seems to be different yet than the one the Ls guys are talking about. My curl cylinders stay floppy till I have curled back and forth for a bit. Theirs firms up on its own once the pump catches up. I'll see if I can get a video that shows me moving the joy stick, and shows what the bucket does in response to my movements. The grapple lines are fine, as it does this no matter what is on the front. Grapple works good, just the FEL curl is so sloppy.

Other tractors do that as well, in fact there's another thread running now in the LS section regarding the "limp" bucket.

IIRC the culprit is that when you fast dump, the hydraulic pump can't keep up with the rate of the fluid leaving the cylinders.

Actually, the culprit is when you dont "fast dump" most of the time.

Fast dump means regen circuit. Which means the pump is putting full pressure to both extend and retract ports. That keeps the cylinder full of oil and air out, as well as making it cycle faster.

If you dont use regen, gravity can pull the cylinder and dump the bucket faster than fluid can be pumped in the cylinder. This sucks air in around the rod seal. And can take a few cylces to completely purge the air out.

If the loader is equipped with a regen circuit on the dump, you need to find out if its the first position, or second position of the joystick. Whatever position is regen, use that and see if performance improves. If you dont have a regen valve, your options are few
1. install a regen valve $$$
2. Install flow restrictors $$
3. Live with it as is

Ah I see, any body know if these tractors have a regen valve for the dump? Or how would a guy find out?

On my Massey for example, if I throw the joystick all the way to the right, it goes into that "fast dump" circuit. Almost feels like a "float" position, similar to throwing the joystick all the way forward.

Push the stick to the right, does it seem like it has more than one position?

The info for my kubota is in the manual. Not sure about the JD

when you dump the bucket hold joystick in dump mode for a couple seconds and it will take the flop out of it

Not sure what tractor you have, but on my 4300 there is a switch under the FEL control joystick that allows a user to lock out the regen mode if not using a loader, maybe worth a shot looking at that? My 430 loader curl is rock solid, no issues like you are talking about with one exception. I noticed that if I curl it back with the engine off (have someone holding the stick to the left while I pick up the bucket cutting edge by hand) it sucks air into somewhere and is floppy until I fire it up and cycle it once.
I don't think what you're experiencing is correct. Any chance a QD is bad?
