I have a 3010 gas that needs a clutch. I have the tractor split and the clutch pack seems to be stuck to the flywheel. It is attached by 6 bolts. They came out no problem but i cant get it off. I have been spraying it with pb blaster and tapping it with a hammer but so far no luck. Any tips?

My guess is pressure plate assembly is dragging on pins(item 2). IIRC pins can get notches worn into them from pto utilization.

Is this the pin you are referring to. It should slide off of that pin correct?

No the pins I referred to are in flywheel hidden from view behind pressure plate.

Ok thanks for your help. I'll keep at it and hopefully she will let go.

By the looks of your picture, I would say the tractor has been sitting without running for quite a while? Appears to be a lot of rust there. There are some holes in outer rim of flywheel that you might be able to pry outwards on clutch plates, but you may have to get aggressive with a heavy hammer and punch around outside of lip of pressure plate cover. The three pins you have circled do go all the way through to the flywheel. Cover may be tight on pins and all of the plates behind the cover may be rusted to pins also.

It has bee sitting out in the weather for 4 or 5 months. The clutch went out and it had to sit there until I could get it home. But it was running good before it happened. I'm going to get after it tomorrow morning and see if I can get it loose.

I was able to get it off. It was definitely stuck on those pins. Thanks for the help. Now im wondering if i should replace the rear main seal. It doesnt appear to be leaking. I would like to but looks like i need a special tool to install it. Any thoughts?
