Price Check 3010 HST pricing

I have been looking at 2910s and 3010s in S.E. Mi. The best price on a 2910HST, r4s,ballast, and fel has been $17,000 b/4 sales tax.
The best price on the 3010HST with the same equipment is $17,900. Are either in the current pricing ballpark in MI and would it be a better deal to just anti up the xtra $900 for the extra grunt of the 3010? Opinions appreciated as purchase is close.

Abe -- HP is only part of the equation. Among the major differences between the B2910 and the L3010 are weight (lots of it), size (i.e., ability to get in and out of tight spots) and hydraulic (lift) capacity.

The answer to your "which one do I get?" question depends largely on how you intend to use the tractor. I lift 1000# logs with my FEL, move a LOT of dirt and stone, mow seven acres, move snow, drag logs out of the forest, etc. I needed the extra mass and lift capacity of the Grande-L series. If your intended use is somewhat less than that, the B2910 will do more than suffice...and fit in places my beast wouldn't.

Any decent dealer will help you make the choice if you go armed with a list of how you intend to use the tractor. If some of the heavy uses are one time only, consider renting a beast and buying a smaller tractor.

If you find the sound of that throaty diesel on the L3010 nearly orgasmic in intensity (as I did), by all means buy a beast!

I definately do like the sound of the 3010's diesel engine. It could be enough to get me to spend the extra $900. Thanks for the input.

I have done quite a bit of research before I bought my 3010. I looked at the 2910 and 2710. The 3010 will take bigger chunks and handle some larger attachments. I think it's worth the extra 900 hands down.

I also briefly considered the 2910 before getting the 3010. My thought was that I won't be buying another tractor for some time and who knows where I'll end up. I love my current house and land but sooner or later will get more acreage and more projects. Presently, I'm glad I got the 3010 for the weight, lift capacity, ability and that wonderful sound! hard to believe but Carver's equipment with $2000 of shipping was the best I could find until I went to Canada. Try Al. Price of 3010hst with loader was approx $16800. Better prices on implements also.
